4 is enough for me or maybe more I care not. What I'm worried about is they might remove controlling other parties.. I definitely hope not. Otherwise that would really suck big time.

Will they nerf the party size? Doubt it.

But I'd rather they keep the party size just as it is.

They need to bring back 6 characters. Gimp the consolers to 4, but give PC players the party-size they had in Baldur's Gate.

Hmm, no.

There'd be no reason to limit it.

Of course there is. PC is clearly the superior platform, so they should get all the nice and shiny features that are obviously wasted in the hands of a kuckle dragging, console troglodyte.

Yes, it has nothing to do with the fact that the PC has the hardware to handle all the nice, shiny features, y'know, like eight times the RAM of the consoles.

It's a fact that BioWare had to reduce the number of on-screen enemies for the console release.

Don't get pissy over facts.  The PC people aren't even pointing out the Toolset and mods they get to toy with that console gamers do not.

You're right, I was jealous that I didn't get to mod my character's hair to look like Jared Leto's.

No info so far -no basis for discussion so far.

I don't see any reason why they should dump the 4 person party, though.

Too make sure the console player's little heads don't explode from the complexity :?.  Of course, that would just be for console, which I unfortunately play on.

So does that mean your head will explode from the complexity since you ARE a console gamer as well? You play on it, you are one of us.

Let me be the first to apologize for having you become "lower" in society, but the first to welcome you in our ranks with open arms. We're a loving kind. Unless you like Halo, then we'll move you along to the sub branch over there to keep you away from the others so no more fighting happens.

We also have chili cookouts every Sunday. Be sure to bring your shotgun and some National Light.

I say 4 people, plus pet. I never used dog, but giving us a dog slot, aswell as companion slots would be awesome.

Dog was as effective as other party members.  I had him tank for one of my Wardens.   If they added a pet slot your pet would have to be a lot weaker than Dog.

Also to the OP: Leliana's song was on the same engine so it could have had 4 party members. They just wrote the story with her and two other people at any given time. It's not logical to assume Leliana's song is showing a trend.

I'd like five, and maybe a dedicated pet slot... although that's not necessary.

A tank, a Healer, a Damage spec'd Mage and a pair of Archer rouges.

6 is the classic party size. It's classic the same reason grilled cheese and tomato is a classic. It's damn good and and works well in multiple situations. Single player or multi player.

I am fully aware the constraints are RAM and VRAM etc..

I'd like to have somewhere between 3 and 6 party members.

ME you had the PC and 2 companions. I'm betting on that.

Because of my PC, I don't get to play Dragon Age anymore because of its persistent hardware problems.  Plus I don't have money to replace it, so I'm sticking to my console, which hasn't failed me yet.

Trust me, I'd RATHER be a PC gamer.  But because of the constant money I funnel into it every year, I just don't feel like doing it anymore.

I totally agree that 4 is a pretty good number, but also I think its the lowest you can go> Any less then four would be a huge blow to tactics. Because I think you always need 2 fighters, a healer, and a mage. Perfectly rounded party. But I would not mind at all if it rose to 6 people parties like BG2. That would be quite cool.

I think this is what we will get becaus it is easier to map 2 companions to a controller that way.

What i would like is for the PC version to get a full 6 man party and have the areas be bigger with more things to fight at a time so the fights would be more epic.

Four seems about right. Bear in mind that in games like BG/BG2, they were permanent party members - always with you - and anyone else you had to leave behind. Not so with DA (or KotOR, JE and ME) - you can still interact with the party members you don't use, or swap different ones in and out. Also, since you only have three character classes (mage, warrior, rogue) there's no need to have more than four - whereas in D&D you had mage, cleric, rogue, warrior, paladin, bard... so it was a lot more complicated.

For the record, i think they only had 3 companions in Leliana's son is because they were with marjolene (technically 4th person in the party) but she was always off doing her own thing and making the other three do all the work.
