City of Chains (more Tevinter influecne), former Qunari occupation (hopefully we'll see some Qun), controlled by the Templars now...

Previously I had kinda figured that Orlais declared war in 8:24 and finally conquered Ferelden in 8:44 (as a means of reconciling the two sources -- I have an unhealthy obsession with the Orlesian occupation
I like Kirkwall as "The City of Chains". It has an awesome "City of Coin / Amn" and "City of Doors / Sigil" Dungeons and Dragons kind of a ring to it.

Love when fiction of any form details a timeline, it does give depth to the lore. As was said above, sounds like Kirkwall will be a perfect setting for a story to be told.

9:21 Dragon Age: Lord Marlowe Dumar is appointed the new Viscount of Kirkwall, replacing Perrin Threnhold, a tyrant killed by the city’s templars “for the good of all.” It is noted by many, however, that Threnhold’s abuses were only opposed after he tried to have the templar order expelled. It is said that Dumar holds power at the sufferance of the templars, and that their order has grown extremely powerful in Kirkwall during his reign. They have become the center of Chantry strength in eastern Thedas and hold their Circle of Magi in a terrifying, iron grip.
...makes being a mage in the Free Marches very interesting...

Hm, do some Qunari have horns? Or do they just wear horned helmets? I suppose having horns might explain ogres a bit better...
Yeah I was wondering about that too. None of the qunari we see in DAO have horns, and the "qunari helmets" don't have horns either... hmm...
You should put that because they've been updating it every couple of days and there is more to come.dielveio wrote...

So...I'm die-hard mage player. Plus a sister mage....and Hawke become "Champion of Kirkwall"...Either those Templars are going to have a mage champion[makes no sense] or we rid Kirkwall of the Chantry[Woo!]
Either way, being a mage is gonna be interesting.
i vote we get rid of the Chantry...

For example, in DAO we learn that the Dales were at war with their neighbors long before the Chantry declared the Exalted March. Heck, the elves even made territorial gains.

It would also explain the appearance and burning interest of the inquisitor Cassandre from the german article....Brockololly wrote...
Yeah, the whole heavy Templar/Chantry influence in Kirkwall suddenly makes the appearance of Flemeth, Morrigan and their Old God loving ways a bit more plausible. What with Morrigan wanting the Old God Baby to be a symbol of freedom and all....I smell a war with the Chantry...

What's intersting though is that Andraste lived about 300 years after the invasion of the Tevintersin the Golden Ciry. I always thought she was the only one who ever spoke to the Maker, so figured she invented the religion. What kind of religion worshipping the Maker existed before the Chantry then?
This all sounds all really odd, with the Tevinters crushing the Elven civilisation, who had gods of their own. And there was the Maker too, yet there was no divine intervention aside from those who entered the Golden City being repelled. Also no information what the Old Gods (Dragons) had to do with it all.
