And now the time line from the Prima Guide CE (p345):
"8.99 Blessed: The previous several years have seen two dragon flights ranging out of the Frostback Mountains and Orkney Mountains, even though that dragons had been hunted to extinction by Nevarran dragon hunters during the Steel Age.The dragons devastate the countrysides in Orlais and Nevarra, and all attempts to slay them end in disaster.
Despite the devastation, some see the return of dragons to Thedas as a glorious sign-Chantry scholars, however, claim that this is the worst of omens. As the Blessed Age draws to a close, they name Dragon Age, saying that it will be an age violence and upheaval.
Where are the Orkney Mountains?I can't see them in the map.
Frostback Mountains seperate Ferelden from Orlais. So it's likely the Orkney Mountains are in or around Nevarra.
Also, anyone else find it hilarious that the dragon went on a rage in Nevarra, of all places?

Hm, do some Qunari have horns? Or do they just wear horned helmets? I suppose having horns might explain ogres a bit better...
Female Qunari are supposed to have horns. It's possible that Qunari do have horns, but the Beresaad--vanguard--have them removed to better...vanguardy?

Wait what do you mean Two flights One dragon? i thought saying flight or dragon was the same thing (from what i gathered from WoW)
sorry if i seem a bit stupid
This isn't WoW. A flight, or rage, of a high dragon occurs when said dragon is about to bear a clutch of eggs. Dragons reproduce in extremely high numbers, so when a high dragon is about to have her brood, she devastates the country side to bother rid the area of predators and to gain enough sustenance for her progeny. They're compared to natural disasters--like category five hurricanes.

So the people of Thedas worshipped the Old Gods, who made the Tevinters to enter the Golden City, where the Maker resided, unworshipped ... largly... Then the invaders were cast down to become darkspawn, searching for their imprisoned gods somewhere in the deeps. But after the first Blight the people must have stopped worshipping the Old Gods, considereing they were Archdemons.
And how come the people worshipped the Old Gods, when the Maker had imprisoned them under the earth or somewhere. Wouldn't it be more reasonable that the people worshipped the Maker then, or were the Old Gods still more powerful? Or was the Maker like ... the christian god, who stayed away from the world of the mortals and only cared for the souls after they died?
This would explain how the Old Gods could maybe offer the people more of a worldy reward for service than the Maker who only rewards the worthy after they died. Also the mages speak of the Black City which is supposed to be in the Fade. When did the mages find it? I also want to know where the Maker went when he left it hehe. Questions, questions.
Well, no one made the Tevinter mages enter the Golden City. We do know a number of them forcibly inserted their physical bodies into the Fade--which took a third of all the lyrium or two thirds of it in the Empire, and this at a time where the dwarves were at their full strength and Tevinter was ruled by mages, so that would be *a lot*. However, what exactly happened afterwards, no one knows.
As for why they worshipped Old Gods...well, the Tevinter Mages worshipped them, so they possibly made all others worship them as well. Who's gonna argue with a mage that can control your mind and whose mere appearance makes entire armies route?
Another thing to consider is that, possibly, the Old Gods, Maker, and the Golden City's corruption was entirely made up by the Chantry. After all, the Chantry despised Tevinter and the mages who ruled it. By spreading such a story through the masses, they could accomplish two goals--subvert the authority of the Tevinter mages and allow them to subjugate other mages where Tevinter had no authority.
Remember that the High Dragons seem to have somewhat of an influence on people. Remember the cult? And Old Gods are rumored to have taught mages magic in the first place.
Lastly, the Black City is the tainted Golden City. In fact, you can see it in game, I believe--it's the epicenter of the Fade. All masses revolve around the Black City, like a sun, always the same distance from it. No one can get there, not even, from what I understand from Justice, the denizens of the Fade.
