This has nothing to do with what I did, or would do or not do.  The idea is about adding depth of roleplay and pushing boundaries in a entertainment medium.  There have been fantasy authors - George R.R. Martin to name the most recently recognizable - whom have had incestuous characters in their novels but whom, I seriously doubt, ever engaged in incest themselves.  Fiction, it's what's for dinner.  

If not said outright, it would be nice if there were enough ambiguous dialog to let an rper infer that it might be going on ... and maybe have some npcs question the possibility ... to add another potential level to your character.

What an utterly innane question!!!! No I wasn't. Not that I find VG sex interesting enough to really pursue it either. But, groupsex or homosexuality is neither illegal, nor does it lead to traumatized children. Well, maybe it's illegal in some backwards countries, I don't know, but not in any civilized nation.

Incest is NOT something to trivialize, or use in entertainment. Neither is rape, slavery, torture or any such thing. VG's already tethers on the edge of going to far, incest would seriously cross the line.

In DA:O, I had some issues with the way the Fort Drakon was first depicted as a truly terrifying place, where all manners of torture and abuse took place, and then the escape of the warden is turned into a Monty Python scetch. I despise torture, as most sentient people do, and therefore it irritated me that it was trivialized.

Comparing incest with homosexuality or groupsex, would indicate that someone have their priorities wrong!

This somehow feels like "If you play GTA, you will become a mindless killer!"-nonsense.
If someone really is capable of incest, do you think a silly videogame will trigger it? We should trust that all of us have brains.

There are many literature out there way too outrageous for today's standard, read some ancient greek stuff. I've had to read The Symposium, and it was disturbing. Yet it considered a classical.

I've read Martin, thankyou very much, and it is not as if he depicts incest as an laudable or commendable act, rather it is described as the actions of a seriously twisted, sick and decadent pair of siblings. And for me, there's a huge difference between reading about an act from a third person perspective, and then having it trivialized in a VG, where you'd have to instigate it from a first person perspective, to entertain kids with nothing better to do than fantasizing about every woman they se in the game.

I highly doubt they would implement that. Bioware already nerfed down their love scenes in ME2 and Origins compared to the "sizzling" scenes in ME1. I personally thought the scenes were very mild in ME1 and didn't warrant all the bad attention, but some people will go to great lengths to keep that sort of thing under lock and key.



Could you imagine the crapstorm that would start on Fox news if they implemented this? I don't think it's worth the risk to be honest.
