Conforming? DA2 Opinion/Concern

So I'm excited. I love Bioware's games and I'm a big fan of Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

But reading the Game Informer article made it clear that DA2 has two major changes:
1. A revised communication system with full dialogue instead of the silent hero.
2. The story revolving around a single, only-human character with a one-word name.

I've always thought these things kept Dragon Age (as well as KOTR and Jade Empire) seperate from Bioware's sci fi game. I like Mass Effect for it's dialogue system but I also like DAO for giving me more options instead of Good Hawke, Bad Hawke, and Confused Hawke. Not that it'll be that way for sure but I'm afraid it will. After all, they're going for a more detailed scripted character like Shepard. That's great for narative but it screws over the custimization half of the RPG and limits how much the character can say.

So I like what they're doing with the game otherwise: consistent universe, new art change, story takes place during the first game sorta. Its just the above two things that make me think its too much like ME. I'm going to miss those things.

Anyone else feel this way?

These two issues are discussed in other threads already posted to the discussion forum. please join the discussions there. We don't need every single person starting a brand new thread giving their take on the situation. thank you.

end of line.
