If you could add a magic school (i.e. Primal, Entropy, etc...) in DA2 what would you add?
I think a Nature school would be really cool. Granted, Primal is similar but this would have a slightly different flavor. Maybe a water tree, a wind, tree, and spells that deal with plants and such and maybe weather (like mist or a burst of blinding sunlight). Spells like Stinging Swarm could also be added here.
Thoughts?
If you could add a magic school...

Depends, if mages get balanced against the difficulty of the game in DA2, I would go with summoning.

I play various Bards and Rogue like charecters in D&D and videya games so Ideally If i went mage it'd have to be Illusion.

When I first read this thread title I thought you were literally talking about a school where you go to learn magic, and I like Hogwarts FTW! lol
But yeah, I hope they keep blood magic, cause that's really cool. I also like the summoning idea, but not little bears and stuff like that had last time, I mean like big, awesome creatures!

Telekinesis
Some skills will be similar to their Mass Effect biotic counterparts, though the idea of techniques such as Pull, Throw, and Slam certainly existed long before ME (Such as force moves in Jedi Knight II Outcast).
Other abilities within the school would include the ability to slow time (without affecting the party), short range teleportation, put up barriers and deflect incoming enemy spells/missiles.

A new school? I would have to say Force/Telekinesis. One line would be devoted to the direct manipulation of energy (a la magic missles), one to the defensive applications thereof, one to the CC/debuff uses, and one to whatever Bioware feels like.

Hogwarts?
Seriously though, how about a School of Matter? Could have branches for Magnetism (hurting people wearing plate armor or affecting the swings of metal weapons), Gravity (pulling people around, apart, etc), Radiance (blinding, searing damage maybe)... and Reflection? (spell reflection, simulacrum, doppelganger curse)
I've taken some liberties with what constitutes being a branch of "matter", as you can tell... had to stretch a bit.
I considered Time, but I dunno if that would really fit under Matter. I think Time should have its own school.
edit: oops, I suppose I'm quite late to that Hogwarts joke. Better to just leave it in than try to delete it and cover up my fail, I suppose.

How about a whole school devoted to summoning where the different lines summon different things. One for demons, one for benevolent spirits, one for allies formed of energy (like a floating sword and shield or something), and one for monsters (like a big spider, or a bereskarn, or something like that). That way you can summon demons if you want but you don't have to feel like an evil bastard if you want to summon something.

What we have already:
-primal: elemental stuff
-creation: healy buffy stuff
-spirit: I'd say telekinesis is already in here
-entropy: basically death magic
-shapeshift: well, there goes that idea for nature magic
-arcane warrior: more telekinesis
-blood magic: mindcontrol and the such
-spirit healer: more healery stuff
-keeper magic: more nature magic
-battlemagic: more telekinesis and more elemental stuff, with some anger control thrown in for good measure.
Demonology would work, if you can make four trees out of them. Or one, if you make a new specialization for every class. (that's ofcourse assuming DA2 uses the same skill tree system). Demonology would also cover necromancy, as the undead are spirits/demons possessing corpses rather than living beings.
It's very hard to come up with sufficient demon/necro spells, though, without crossing over into the primal or entropy spells.

it'd be nice to have teleportation, although i don't see it having its own school. Maybe you could teleport yourself, or an ally.

If you read the codex entry on the cardinal laws of magic, it explains that teleportation is impossible. It was a method of magic that Bioware long-age (and I do mean LONG ago) decided was impossible.
