This is kinda unrelated but I hope Bioware employ the Fallout 3 tactic when creating what Bethany looks like. She should look similar to the face that you choose for Hawke. It broke immersion in DA:O when I was walking around as a dark skinned dwarf with black hair when my supposed family all had fair hair and white skin.

If they could just give Bethany the same hair color and skin tone as the Hawke you create, I'd be happy.

It's not a big deal at all, though, if we have the toolset. I'd probably make her look very similar or twin to my own Hawke, just for fun.

if bethany looks like hawke initially, which would be awesome, it would make her turning into a darkspawn even cooler! itd be like looking at a deformed version of your character haha

My money is on her being kidnapped, and you eventually have to choose between saving her and saving some other innocents. A morality choice if you will.

As much as I hate to consider it, I think you're right. I already know what my "canon" Hawke is choosing. Don't worry, sis, I'm coming! Screw those other people!

Is Bethany younger or older than Hawke?

I'd save my sister before other innocences. Harsh but true.

Yeah... but console players don't get the toolset. :(

Exactly, this is my problem. They are probably going to make her resemble bearded canon Mike Hawke which will bully me into making my Hawke have white skin and dark hair for immersion's sake.

That would be too lame of Bioware. Even Bethesda managed to make your PC's father in Fallout 3 always look like your PC. It's not that hard to implement.

On the topic on how long Bethany will be with Hawke: I think she will be gone one way or another soon after the tutorial for the simple reason that there is no way she can address Hawke without having two different recorded dialogs for both male and female. All the other NPCs can address him/her simply as Hawke or by a title and seldom need two versions for male/female, but a sibling cannot call another sibling by their shared surname without sounding weird or permanently use a title which would sound sarcastic.

Yes that would be quite lame on their part. I'm just hanging on to faith that Bioware will go the extra mile and make your sister resemble your character. I'm going to be honest; i'm black and frankly i'm tired of always feeling like I have to make white characters just because everyone else is white. It really ruins the role playing experience for me.

Well, she might have for him/her some sort of a pet name; that might work as well.

She's a companion and I honestly assume she'll be to the half or over half way part. Similiar to a certain moment of ME 1, where you are forced to make a choice.

I assume she will either A. Betray you and join evil. B. Be forced to sacrifice herself.

Since the game is "looking" back i'm going assume you'll know based on dialogue. You'll probably get something like, "You and your sister were together from the very beginning weren't you?" and you'll flash back and bam stuff happens.

Maybe the demon possessing Hawke's beard will make him look on powerlessly as Bethany is executed by Paulie Franchetti. Then Hawke will kill himself and wake up in World War 1.

Hmmm nice, thanks for the scan. Seems like they've been working on more detailed hair/beard options this time around. And is that a scar on her cheek ? someone's been looking at the mods out there to see what's popular, it seems. :]

She really has a similar facial structure to her brother, I wonder even more if it's set in stone or changes based on the appearance you give the main char.

Very good point.

Plus 2 sisters talk differently to each other than brother and sister.
