What I wanna know...

I apologize if there are topics on this already, but I haven't been here in a while and I had been debating replaying DAO again... but if my character doesn't mean anything in the 2nd game, I feel a bit reluctant about doing something like that. I guess I'm just used to the whole ME>ME2 thing now. I dunno.

Yea and I do like DAO. I enjoy playing it. I was just under the impression that my character and his story would continue. Haven't played Awakening yet, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't give me the continuation I've been wanting.
yeah Awakening definately doesnt.
I have heard that we do import data though.
Exactly what, how and why is still everyones guess.

Alright, that's at least a little interesting. Gets the imagination going at least.

And among other things, I have a full-time job and a novel I'm rewriting.

Well, it's not the Warden's story.

Well what would you do? Your the gawdamn Hero of Ferelden. You are the only person to have slain an Archdemon and lived. From there, we just have one long anticlimax. Sometimes, a story is simply over. Some people just have to accept that.
This, there is nothing the Warden CAN do that would be impressie or chalanging in Thedas. The only place where a level 60+ character with top tier gear would even find a worthy chalange is probably the Fade. And most everyone who played Origins HATED the Fade level anyway. If you wanna play in Thedas with your carry over Warden ask yourself this: is killing every enemy in a single attack while taking no damage for 80% of the game "fun"? Or is an endless parade of High Dragons and Pride Demons who can actually offer some chalange "fun"?
If you keep the Warden, you can either have a realized world with interesting characters who pose no threat to you and thus made pitiful foes/friends/whatever. or an endless stream of "boss fights" because your overpowered character is too strong for anything else.

Quit posting this drivel in every single thread. It was stated during development of DA:O that you should not expect to have your character carry over to other DA games.

What I wanna know is, is my DAO character meaningless in DAO2 and if so, why?
This game is Dragon Age 2, not Dragon Age: Origins 2.
