While thoroughly impressed by the ending of Dragon Age, I must confess to some slight disappointment. The funeral scene for your PC was missing an element that I would have expected to see, and I'm rather surprised it wasn't included: your party members.
I listened to Alistair speak on the behalf of the player, and I found it to fit well, both with the main plot and with my own Origin Story. But I was astonished, and a bit confused, when none of my other party members made an appearance. It's not that I had been distant or cruel to them: indeed, I strove for the opposite. Almost all of my party members had very high dispositions (with the exception of Morrigan, who left after I refused her offer), so it is more than passing strange that none of them would speak, or even deign to show, at the funeral of a friend.
I could understand if this were a problem based on an inability to know which party members cared for, or even still traveled with, the PC, but the game's engine has already proven itself capable of handling such probabilities with distinction. Indeed, I am very impressed by the number of possibilities for change in subsequent playthroughs. Why, then, do your companions not attend the funeral? Yes, there are little written bio's for each of your companions after the funeral scene, but I think that would have tied in even better had they appeared, or even spoke at, the funeral. I guess what I'm getting at, here, is a question: could we perhaps see this tied in with DLC, or a patch?
With all of that off my chest, I have to congratulate you, Bioware: you crafted an ending worthy of the game. I have put over 50 hours into my first playthrough, and I might well put 50 more into my next. I was sitting on the edge of my seat for near the last couple of hours of playing, and my mind was blown by some of the decisions, interactions, and desperate measures the player was forced to take. I even appreciated the subtle humor, and bit of confusion, provided by Sandal standing in Fort Drakon over the bodies of dozens of darkspawn, exclaiming "Enchantment!" Riordan's demise, the allied commanders assisting in the battle with the Archdemon, even the ballistae available to damage the dragon on the fort's rooftop (takes me back to my Zelda days, that) all assisted in immersing me in the anxiety of uncertainty, the thrill of victory, and the bitter knowledge that even complete victories come with a cost in blood.
But I've rambled on for quite long enough. Bioware, I have always been a fan of your work, and I look forward eagerly to future installments of Dragon Age (not to mention Mass Effect 2!). May the Maker smile on all your good work!

I completely agree, but given what you get when you die and what you get when you don't....
Frankly I don't think you're meant to die. Sequel purposes.

uumm, your other members were mixed in with the crowd, given this might also be something that changes, but I know I saw Sten/Oghren at least in the crowd while Aliistair was speaking.

My party was there. Even during his eulogy it would focus on one of them.

i didnt die so i could talk to most of my party members it is rather disapointing they didnt gave the player a voice like they did in mass effect.

Hmmm. Call me crazy, but I never saw any of my party members. The camera remained largely focused on Alistair, with a couple of small focuses on Greagoir (due to my Magi origin, I believe). Even if they were present, however, it does not diminish my disappointment that none of them spoke.
