For one thing, shes a total ****. Two, She demands commitment even if the relationship is just for the fun. And three, She runs out on you at the end of the game no matter how much she likes you.

So why on earth are so many of the guys her obsessed with her?

EDIT And i just relized i put this in the wrong forum...  *facepalm*

It's the right forum.

and nobody is "obsessed" with her. Her character doesn't attract that kind of crowd.

Because there's a real person under all that baggage and armor. She tries to project a certain image, but as you get to know her, you see peeks of something different. She struggles with what she thought she knew about herself, and what she actually finds herself feeling.

The way she deals with this is classic Morrigan...she does so on her own and in an extreme and confrontational way. She decides that "tent time" with the Warden isn't helping, so she puts a stop to that, then she demands that you convince her you want it to end, because she is finding herself unable to end it herself. If you do not accede to her demand, she gets very angry at you. She fears losing the edge she feels has been crucial in her survival thus far. She fears failing in her "mission" because of these feelings she regards as weakness.

I don't know, you tell me...how can you NOT be obsessed with Morrigan?

You wouldn't be concerned about the Eldritch abomination running around and being taught how to view the world by MORRIGAN of all people?

Heh, I'm a straight woman and I know why. I get similar satisfaction from developing a friendship with her. I mean, here's a person who has only known coldness and a kind of brutal practicality, and you can show her that not everyone is out to get her, or untrustworthy. You can give her an example of another kind of human interaction than she's gotten from Flemeth. People don't (generally) like the bad girl/guy because they're bad, they like them because they want to redeem them and show them another way.

She just doesn't interest me much in the way she does others. Im more of a Leliana type of guy. Shes sweet, shes caring, she has a "wild side", and not to mention im a sucker for sexy redheads.

As for Morrigan, I only had "tent time" as you say with her just for the trophy.

On the surface, Claudia Black has a sexy voice so that's probably a big part of it.

On a deeper level, I'd have to spend hours explaining male/female relationship psychology which is very much in the "eye of the beholder" so to speak. Let's just say that it's very much a reversal of roles. Usually, it's the guys pretending not to care about the girl. And the girls go for the guys that don't care about them. Here, we have an example of the opposite. It's an oddity, a psychological fascination. A role-reversal. 'Nough said.

Morrigan is a player.

No, because my Grey Warden knows the REAL Morrigan. Not the image she tries to convey. He trusts and loves her, and wants to help her come to terms with all of it. He knows that SHE knows that she was lacking a motherly love when she was growing up. The fact that she complains about it indicates she knows there was something wrong with that picture. Like Wynne says, he will be a good influence on her, instead of her being a bad influence on him, as Alistair feared.

Don't get me wrong, her vanishing was a real setback in this process, but all is not lost. At least...I hope not.

Call me crazy but Morrigan doesn't seem like the motherly type.

I'm sure she'll look after the . . . thing.

But as for raising it?

Not at first, no. But that's what I'm saying...the GW can be a good influence on her. I can easily see her trying to give the child what she didn't have growing up.

Not that I think the child will have an idyllic upgringing or anything...but I seriously don't see Morrigan just being Flemeth all over again.

Hmm, I wonder why a man would want to seek out the mother of his child.  It's a mystery we may never be able to solve I'm afraid.

Yeah you're right. Based on what I've seen so far the creepy ossessive types are the Zevron people.

Morrigan is certainly one who doesn't appreciate those with kind hearts. At least not at first. Regardless of your faction, which I am good, I bet you can sway her viewpoints in the long run. To be truly honest, she is just one who needs comforting and guiding, and as a good Warden, I try. In the end though, it is uncertain how much it pays off, which is why I am looking for a resolution between the two of us.

Consider that she has been raised by a demon her whole life. Her idea of what it is to be human had been completely warped and "shapeshifted" by Flemeth her whole life. It is up to my Warden to show her what is really means to be human.

In all fairness, it's not because I love her, or am obsessed with her. I want to go after her to see this child, the same thing with Mardy! I want to see my child woman! Give it to me!

Well as posted earlier, it's because of how complex her character is, if you get to know her well enough. Underneath all that bitterness is a scarred and scared little girl, who was never given the chance to blossom. Even though I didn't romance her, I was her best friend. Leliana is my girl, but I did the dark ritual anyway, because I chose to see it as Morrigan's thank you gift for the friendship. I really don't know what will happen with the God baby, but I hope that it will be a gift to Morrigan, to help her to change and come alive even more.

Morrigan is complex and needs to be saved, despite herself. A lot of guys go for that.

Others prefer the straight up, get-what-you-give romance that Leliana offers.

Both are jealous minxes and have their own appeal. Though it was amusing to have them fight over my Warden when I went after both at the same time.

For all her supposed witchiness, she was actually the one I got along the best with during my first playthrough, and all of our conversations ended with the approval bar upping as much as nine points. She's been raised to never trust anyone, to discard any notion of love or emotional bonds with other people because they're a source for weakness - and even still, there's more to her than just coldness and sharp edges. A part of her wants friendship and love, and she approves the most of dialogue options where you tell her that you care about her as a person and that she can rely on you, which becomes evident when you're willing to go as far as to kill an ancient abomination to keep her safe.

Morrigan is really not a bad person. I don't think so. For all Flemeth's efforts, she's still managed to maintain her humanity. It probably doesn't hurt that she's stunning and has Claudia Black as her voice actor, either.
