On the surface, Claudia Black has a sexy voice so that's probably a big part of it.

On a deeper level, I'd have to spend hours explaining male/female relationship psychology which is very much in the "eye of the beholder" so to speak. Let's just say that it's very much a reversal of roles. Usually, it's the guys pretending not to care about the girl. And the girls go for the guys that don't care about them. Here, we have an example of the opposite. It's an oddity, a psychological fascination. A role-reversal. 'Nough said.

Although it should be noted that this personna of hers is not  a unique thing for Bioware.  They've done it before.    Viconia had the exact same schtick to her romance in BG2.  Complete with the "I'm evil, and therefore  I think love is a weakness and I don't know what love is anyway.  And Oh yea, I really like sex!"


Speaking of which, I'd say the whole sexual thing is why lots of guys really like morrigan.  She's so... sexual, personality wise.     She'll sleep with you at 51 approval.  That's like, 3 quick conversations with her before you even set foot in lothering.  And aside from that, Even  her banters with other party members ooozes in sexual innuendo.

Alistair:  Jealous?  I'm not Jealous.  I'm terrified
Morrigan: those red cheeks of yours paint a different picture
Alistair:  these cheeks are  scared you'll suck all the blood out of them
Morrigan:  If I wanted to suck anything of yours, Alistair, You'd be the first to know


And the countless banters she has with Sten.  And the fact that even her personal quest is about her Body....

Chivalry IS dead, even she knew about this, despite her joke towards the Warden.

Both are jealous minxes and have their own appeal. Though it was amusing to have them fight over my Warden when I went after both at the same time.

Ever watched the anime Series Tenchi Muyo? GREAT romance anime, funny as hell watching Ryoko and Ayeka fighting over the main character. I can see Morrigan as Ryoko and Leliana as Ayeka

I really, really like Morrigan and she's one of my favorite companions, but I see where you're coming from. The funny thing for me is that most men in real life would more likely stay away from someone like Morrigan. How do I figure this? I myself can occasionally come off as cold (apparently, according to a few friends) and I'm not exactly some catch for guys. I've come to the conclusion that this does not have anything to do with my appearance, but the fact that I don't give off an easy bimbo aura. Thank you for reading my real-life ramble slightly masked by a Morrigan thread.

Because she didn't have any hangups sleeping with a Dwarf. IMO, Morrigan was the "sexy" woman and Leliana was the cute girl with the "hidden" sexy underneath...was fun to draw them both out in the different playthroughs.

Not to sound sexist or anything (not too sexist) but some women just don't appreciate guys for going out in the world catching all the quips that they throw at men. Some men, who cannot catch those messages, get the shaft. In Dragon Age, or for any game really, romances are given to you with a condom and a back-rub. In the real world, most of the work is not even worth a five minute Milky Way break with the lady who ignores much of the work that a guy performs just to be acknowledged as a caring or worthy individual.

That being said, no you are right, normally I would not consider Morrigan someone worthy of my labor, but she seems to WANT you (As a male Warden) to try and give her comfort. If I had a nickel million dollars for everytime that worked in the real world. Well.... I wouldn't be very rich now... Would I?

She's the hottest and seems less insane than Leliana and her "vision from the maker". She seems real, and certainly does after you kill Flemeth for her.

I could see guys wanting a fling with a woman as stunning as Morrigan but someone that high maintenance and callous is so not girlfriend material.  And real life tends to lack the opportunities to break through the shell of someone like that.  Though there are some ancient abominations of mothers, slaying them is frowned upon.

A good number of friends got fed up with the snark and decided that Morrigan wasent worth their time anymore. I had a real hard time my first time as well since my DC who tried to romance her brought her through Redcliffe and decided to help, then dumped her after her whole spiel. took a while to gain approval back after that one.
