Example: Upgrade Templar to Knight-Commander and Champion to Hero.
What do you think of this idea?

I do like the idea of deeper specializations.

So with your idea, it would be really cool if when you reach Knight-commander you unlock a quest to actually become Knight-commander of the local Order. Kind of like the Strongholds in Baldur's Gate 2.

EDIT: Also it could be something like a specialization tree where you put some of your experience or attribute points to upgrade your specializations. And I do like the idea of Knight-Commadner taking over the local order.

The ones I didn't like in origins were Reaver, Shapeshifter, and the Assassin.

I loved the concept of the shapeshifter, but I thought that it failed in its application. Granted, I didn't use it much, but I felt like there was never really a reason to.

i would suffice if specialization made you feel really special, i meen their were just 4 abilities that you could gain from 1 specialziations

Yeah, I never really felt the desire to specialize. The only specialization that I ever took was Spirit Healer and that was just for the first spell.

Also Here are the mage ideas.
Shapeshifter- Shape Chnager (allows you to become different human forms depending on character's gender)
Spirit Healer- Arcane Healer (double healinh affects and other things)
Arcane Warrior- Arcane Horror (abilities and other powers of the arcane horrors you meet in the first game)
Blood Mage- Maleficar (more powerfull blood magic for a blood mage that allows you to deal more damage and control groups of people).
You all can post ideas here if you like. Just speculation until confirmation.

Also I heard that if your a blood mage, wynne will figure it out and tell gregoir and you'll have to kill them.

I just came up with these, and we both had the same Blood Mage one! lol
Shapeshifter-Fleshmorph
Spirit Healer-Soul Mender
Arcane Warrior-Spell Soldier
Blood Mage-Maleficar (?)

I think it would be a great idea if your specializations impacted how NPCs reacted to you. This never really happened much in DAO. (the only event I can recall is the templar referencing your ablity to sense demons if you had the templar specialization in the alienage)
Yes, I would like that very much.
In fact, I would like it if we had different ways of killing someone during a conversation depending on our classes.
A mage taking a dagger out of nowhere to kill a werewolf seems impractical when you could just blast them in the face with a magic bolt and kill them instantly rather than letting them bleed to death.

Or you are able to spend a specialization point to upgrade to a higher level of that spec rather then choosing a new one, if you want?

I may be overly optimistic, but i'm guessing this is going to happen.. i'm thinking/hoping each class has been fleshed out more due to lack of race choices.... i would have loved to see some blood magic conversation options in origins. (ex. making an npc take out their own dagger and kill themselves mew ha ha ha).
*also side note.... i tried so hard to get wynne to ream out my blood mage.. but no such convo comes up, unless you are a blood mage before doing broken circle quest... and even then you have to be pretty blatent for wynne to fight you for being a blood mage.

i like the idea though, upgrading specializations and having the world react to it, but i think thats what the game is geared towards doing with hawke anyway
