Hello all,
This video for Guild Wars 2 was released today, showing the rogue class:
It looks great, and what it reminds me of is the fact that in Dragon Age I played a rogue and basically was just a warrior with different attacks. It didn't feel "rogue-y" for lack of a better term.
What I would like to see in Dragon Age 2 is a concentration on Rogues avoiding being hit as an active player-involved experience. Not just a higher dextertity or a few shadow powers, but an entire focus on the idea of the rogue not standing next to enemies attacking, but rather constantly moving on the battlefield. I know this is tricky with a tactical stat-based RPG like this, but the mages feel very mage-like, removed from battle and using areas and position to attack, so I don't see why more work cannot be done on the rogues in this manner.
Looking forward to hearing opinions... thanks for your time.
Rogues need to feel quicker and more agile in DA2

Supposedly that is one of their goals in DA2. classes will have more "depth" in their specialization instead of "breadth" like in DAO. Per GI, one of the goals is to "feel like this unstoppable juggernaut, a lithe super-ninja, or a field artillery."

Yeah, the ranger class looks much improved over the original. I really can't wait for that game.

Looked like they all just used the Rain of Arrows ability.
(Which is silly as all hell)
Active dodging would take away from the tactics of DA because pausing and issuing commands would actually get in the way of dodging.

Just order a dodging roll command, then a backstab command. It's the same as running to a spot with a mage to cast an effective cone spell.

Rogues should move like Errol Flynn.
Or Bruce Lee.
Or Bruce Lee.
