BioWare has pretty much bent over backwards to make the fans appeased.
--Didn't like the Mako? Gone.
--Didn't like the micromanagement? Bye-bye to that.
--Didn't like the RPG elements? They've been greatly reduced.
--Bored with driving around planets in search of rocks? No more.
--Wanted Garrus and Tali as romanceable characters? Done (and brilliantly executed).
--More squaddies? Here, have twice as many new characters.
I mean, seriously, I never got why people complain so much. What more can they do?? I'm sorry, but this is a sore spot for me. Am I a BW fangrrl? Yup. But you have to admit they achieved the above, and they have THE best track record *ever* for listening to fan feedback.
The ME universe is digital crack and every bit as legit a world as that in Star Wars or anything else you care to mention. Is ME2 perfect? Heck, no. Is it a great, replayable game? Hell, yes!
And the Suicide Mission was fantastic.
ANd now what they say is
-We want mako back HAMMERHEAD SUCKS
-Bring back the old inventory!!!!!!!
-Too much shooter not enough RPG!
-Probing planets is gay bring back exploration!
-We didnt get to see tali's face thats GAY!
-Too many squad mates! There pointless!
Seriously bioware does everything they tell them too and they compalin about it. It would be funny if they didn't take it so seriously...
I know everyone in this thread is going to hate this but I'l go ahead and throw it out there. Im not complaining about the game rather just pointing out why a lot of things are being complained about.
And dont get me wrong ME2 is one of the best games to date, but:
Bioware took everything too literal:
Fix the Mako controls-> take vehicles out entirely from the game (Hammerhead was dlc) they could have just improved upon the control scheme and made a majority happy.
Fix the inventroy-> take the entire thing out (why not just fix it). The new system which is good just didnt have enough options, let us customize weapons/armor, give us more than 1 type of armor and more types of guns.
Fix combat in ME1 -> focus totally on combat. Stated by the devs that the first goal was to focus on the shooting elements, which is fine, but that unfortunately caused other areas to suffer.
Exploration was tedious -> take it away (again why not just fix it). Give us worlds that are more than just barren rocks and mountains. The scanning is just as tedious as the original exploration, except that in ME2 you HAVE to scan planets to upgrade. In ME1, which Ive played through nearly 20 times, I NEVER went looking for every single thing to scan, it was completely optional.
If Bioware just takes what made ME1 & ME2 so amazing ME3 should be the greatest game created.

What's sad is that a lot of people complaining are nitpickers. They're taking one small element here or there and saying "Bioware should fix this" when clearly they simply can't take that Bioware did something that didn't pander to their every whim.
Half the time it feels like they think it's Bioware's duty to bend over backwards for every gamer's gripes or demands in order to make a game when, clearly, Bioware wouldn't get anything done that way.

-Mako sucks!
-Elevators suck!
-Inventory sucks!
-Too much RPG!
-Plotholes!
Mass Effect 2:
-I want the mako back!
-I want elevators back!
-I want the inventory back!
-Not enough RPG!
-Plotholes!
I seriously hope Bioware doesn't actually take this community seriously. Or else ME3 will turn into a ****storm. I guess the problem with making Mass Effect widely known is you introduce the idiots aswell.

Oh I'm certain they've decided on a list of things they AREN'T going to change to make Mass Effect 3, especially when the changes from ME1 to ME2 made it a contender for GOTY in almost every major critic's opinions. They know people won't be completely satisfied. But hey, you can't grab everyone with a single game.

The internet is a vast, mostly anonymous method of communication. You can say almost anything and not suffer any consequences in real life. People don't like it when you shout in their ear about how much something sucks, so they turn to the internet.
You can **** and whine all you like on the 'net, and nobody can do anything about it. That's why the haters far outnumber people who like ME2; they can't find people to listen to them IRL, so they vent here instead while most of the game's fans are busy playing it.

And it took only 15 replies to go back to this. Please read the original post, this isnt a complaint thread, its a praise thread. I know your not outright complaining but it isnt praise either. Please read what I said in the original post

- or just give Hammerhead armor and problem solved
- old inventory is broken, I was glad that was gone but they should had made new one
- ME1 is heavy shooter too
- gay? What are they 14?
- how the f*ck is that gay?
- there? Oh you mean they, spellcheck dude. And how this squad is pointless while in ME1 isn't? Seriously only squadmate I almost never used is Jacob and in ME1 Ash after my 1st playtrough
Also people will always find something to complain about.
Like on Youtube Spax3 when complain about new Sonic game that Sonic has green eyes.

Also, everyone complained about the slow elevators, then wanted them back.
I for one consider ME2 one of the greatest games of all time. Nearly every change from ME1 was a change for the better in my opinion.

You must have been tired since your post made no sense and obviously wasn't praising anything. Which is odd, since most of your posts are pretty interesting, normally.

While I think Bioware might have overreacted a little to some criticism of ME1, I think ME2 was a fantastic game!
This is quite a refreshment from the DA2 boards where many are saying "Oh Noes! There making Dragon effect 2 and gutting the game! Agh!" An exageration but people constantly using ME2 as an example of how not to do a sequel have been bothering me.

I liked ME1 better than ME2. There were a lot of things I didn't like about ME2, including, but not limited to story, mission setup, and crouch:crying:.
And if were to leave my post there i would probably get flamed by dozens of ppl saying "If you hate the game so much why did you Play it?" or "Go back to ME1 then!"
What ppl fail to realize is, that even though there were a lot of things i didn't like about the game, there were a lot more things that i liked, including, but not limited too Combat,(i actually enjoyed being a biotic, and soldier was more tactical), Level and Set Design (shops actually looked like shops, rather than keyboards from starwars) and Dialogue(even though i didn't like the characters as much, what they had to say, and the quantity was better).
Yet i don't really advertise these points, because as much as ppl like praising good things, they like to criticize bad things more, in the hope of having it changed for the next game.
All im saying is don't think every negative commenter hated the game, they just hated that part of the game.

Understand that people with negative opinions are more vocal - the "vocal minority" as it were. If you want to see more positive response to the game, go to pretty much any other gaming forum.

The first scene of ME2 made me
The rest of the game just kept on getting better and better. It truly is a work of art.
My favorite mission, and I'm sure it's everyones favorite, is the SM. Like others have stated, I knew I would make it out alive but even that didn't keep me from being glued to the screen for every second of it.
My hats off to you Bioware.
Thanks for an amazing game.

This. I love ME2, I just wish it hadn't taken itself on the path of all generic sci-fi stories with unexplainable gimmicks and phenomenon, and stuck with the believable-fiction theme.
