BioWare has pretty much bent over backwards to make the fans appeased.
--Didn't like the Mako? Gone.
--Didn't like the micromanagement? Bye-bye to that.
--Didn't like the RPG elements? They've been greatly reduced.
--Bored with driving around planets in search of rocks? No more.
--Wanted Garrus and Tali as romanceable characters? Done (and brilliantly executed).
--More squaddies? Here, have twice as many new characters.
I mean, seriously, I never got why people complain so much. What more can they do?? I'm sorry, but this is a sore spot for me. Am I a BW fangrrl? Yup. But you have to admit they achieved the above, and they have THE best track record *ever* for listening to fan feedback.
The ME universe is digital crack and every bit as legit a world as that in Star Wars or anything else you care to mention. Is ME2 perfect? Heck, no. Is it a great, replayable game? Hell, yes!
And the Suicide Mission was fantastic.
-Correction, people did not want the Mako removed, they wanted it IMPROVED.
-I have seen nobody who wanted the RPG Elements removed or the Micromanagement toned down. I for one was dissapointed greatly by the dumbing down of the series.
-And what did they replace it with? Something even worse.
-This is the thing that was actually done right by the overhaul - Tali and Garrus are much better characters, and the increase in squadmates was fun.
Mass Effect 2 is a pretty cool game, I'll give you that, and call me a nerd but I prefer RPG's over mindless shooters.

1. No, they wanted it GONE. When ME2 came out they wanted the mako, just an IMPROVED version. Fail.
2. No one liked the inventory system (the casual fans, the ones who the devs care about), so they main streamed it in favor of the actual people, and not the virgin nerds as yourself.
3. I agree

Just a quick bump. Sad that this forum lacks so many people who actually enjoyed ME2.
That's because most of us that enjoy it are playing it rather than ****ing
ME2 is awesomesauce

Except that shooters require much more strategy than walking around for 10 hours to level up so you're little magic number is higher than the computer's. Isn't that what half of you are ****ing about? That an RPG shouldn't involve player skill in any way? Its all up to the imaginary character's skill (stats). Tell you what, how about you retards figure out what it is you actually want and then come back mmmkay....

Though i agree shoters a lot more skill than people seem to think they do on this forum there are plenty of VERY HARD RPGS out there it all depends on the indvidiual game. People have a tendancy to generalize entire genres a bit too much

There are hard shooters and RPGs both. Though an RPG like FFXIII, yes you needed to level up but it took skill at the end boss even at a high level. Or a shooter like BFBC2, its hard on the hardest difficulty, and yes you need skill. Genres are genres, and both need skill.
But on topic
-Punching the arrogant reporter, and the non-shooting missions like Thanes loyalty or Samaras, both were amazing and brilliantly executed.

Yes, and it isn't cool at all to like something. Only stupid people like things.

My favorite thing about Mass Effect 2 is the incredibly fine-tuned combat. I honestly want to see Shepard get to go back to Pinnacle Station. The possiblities!

Garrus is such a great character-- lovable, a badass, and awkward as can be. I like his character change in ME2.
I think the LI emails were handled with grace too, and I didn't feel shafted by them, or the BW writers.
Some games I own, I've never even beaten. Or have only beaten once.
Goes to show how great ME2 is.
(On another note, I decorated my Xbox 360 with an ME faceplate and cover.

ANd now what they say is
-We want mako back HAMMERHEAD SUCKS
-Bring back the old inventory!!!!!!!
-Too much shooter not enough RPG!
-Probing planets is gay bring back exploration!
-We didnt get to see tali's face thats GAY!
-Too many squad mates! There pointless!
Seriously bioware does everything they tell them too and they compalin about it. It would be funny if they didn't take it so seriously...
Right, because clearly the people that complained about that are the same exact people that are complain about the changes.

This is the best game I've played since BioShock and the original Mass Effect. I've played through this game six times, that's how much I love it. And soon enough, I'm going to go buy all the expansion packs like Overlord and Kasumi.

I love the Conrad Verner extra. One of my Shepards shot him in the foot - he's such a knob. I love how much extra content you get if you carry a character over from ME1. ME2 has so much more depth to it if you carry over. Love it. I like weapons/skills better in ME1 though. Not keen on the thermal clips thing. I preferred the Mako. Love the suicide mission. Awesome.
Can't wait for ME3.

This game is the GOTY.
It's got its flaws, sure. But I can't really think of anything major. Even the sometimes-lengthy loading screens just allow the player to take a water or bathroom break after playing for 4 hours straight (not that I ever did that... >.>).
Shepard's story is brilliant - ME2 was a solid second act to the trilogy. The characters are incredible (the more the merrier!). The gameplay is engaging, if different from ME (I've always thought its gameplay was no more than a tool to drive the story, while too often the story in games is just a tool to drive the gameplay, if that makes sense).
This universe is just so much FUN.
If you can manage to ignore that a bunch of metal crustaceans wipe out all advanced life every so often. I know I almost managed...and then that last cutscene O.O
