BioWare has pretty much bent over backwards to make the fans appeased.

1--Didn't like the Mako? Gone.
2--Didn't like the micromanagement? Bye-bye to that.
3--Didn't like the RPG elements? They've been greatly reduced.
4--Bored with driving around planets in search of rocks? No more.
5--Wanted Garrus and Tali as romanceable characters? Done (and brilliantly executed).
6--More squaddies? Here, have twice as many new characters.

And the Suicide Mission was fantastic.

1--yes, i love scanning planets rather than exploring them.
2--Buying upgrades for guns with minerals that take hours to gather? 1up.
3--and that's a good thing?
4--no, i'm bored of scanning planets for rocks.
5--no i didn't. (and it was hardly "brilliantly executed") they just used the shy girl stereotype and little 13 year olds loved it.
6--oye, i love spending 80% of my gameplay searching for squadmates rather than saving the galaxy. FunFunFun.

and the suicide mission sucked.

i don't know why i'm responding to a month old post, but wth.

Hey, don't mean to be rude, but have you even read the OP or the name of this thread?  If you feel like venting about all ME2s "flaws," search the other threads on the forums.

This game has several ratings over 90% on several websites, people are obviously buying it, and loving it.

Only the annoying [RPG] elements such as having to turn all excess items into omni-gel and the mako have been eradicated, but BioWare added much more character development, especially within the loyalty missions.

I also love how BioWare made several new characters that were all so distinct in ME2, and not just the squadmates. I loved doing the loyalty missions because I got to talk to Veetor, Kal'Reegar, Bailey, and Morinth.

As much as I accept your opinion on the game, please read the OP, and take your dissapointment elsewhere.

Thankyou very much.

ME1 had flaws but I enjoyed it, ME2 has flaws but I enjoyed. ME3 WILL have flaws but i'll still enjoy it. No game will ever be perfect because different things interest different people.

While I do acknowledge the few minor flaws in ME1 and ME2, I would just like to say that the ME series is my absolute favorite video game series ever and that ME2 is THE greatest game I ever played. This is easily GOTY so far in my opinion.

I think that the immersion of ME2 was much greater than the first. However I would prefer more RPG elements, the improved combat makes up for it and then some.

The storytelling and pace of play I also prefer over the first one. Each character is much more in depth and the writing is great. I also enjoyed the humor in the game, I found myself laughing many times!

I don't mind the planet scanning. The quality of the sidequests are a perfect example of quality over quantity. Every time I play through the game, I find new details and story elements I hadn't noticed before. The game's sheer scope and immersion amaze me. I get about 50-60 hours per playthrough, and personally I think it is an overall greater experience than ME1.

Being a graphic artist, I spend a lot of time admiring art in the games I play. The graphics are leaps and bounds past ME1, and that is a big factor for me. Again, it all adds up to be one of the most immersive games I have played. The books, comics, community, etc are all also important factors for a successful franchise. Bioware has delivered on all of these fronts, not to mention the quality DLC packs the come out frequently.

The people enjoying the game are too busy playing it!   Or writing fanfiction, drawing fanart, and perusing interviews pertaining to ME2.

But seriously, when I was doing homework for my first job (hostess), I read that a person is 25x more likely to complain about a restaurant/bad meal than to rave about it.

It's the human thing to complain, I guess.
