Hey guys, I'm the new guy on the block  and I've recently decided to do some work just for my own pleasure - clear the name of pinnacle station beeing totally unfair to the player. And I've got results, pretty good results, actually. B) I'm going to make a thread about it iliustrated with videos showing how. But before I do, I want to make sure that I wont be accused of some crap. <_<

On google my eye catched a phrase "difficulty reset bug". So, please, I need info. :?

What is the difficulty reset bug? Where, why and when does it occur? How can I tell if it happened during playthrough on pinnacle station?  How do I fix it? How I can avoid it? how does it affect the gameplay?

Any other bugs that i should be aware of wuold be great to. And, as promissed, cookies for everyone who can help.

I can't provide any information about the difficulty reset bug, I wasn't even aware of it. However, I believe there might be something else.

I suspect it is connected to Pinnacle Station because it started happening after I installed it.

Apparently, it messed up my texture filtering settings, as they got switched from anisotropic to point. However, the in-game config menu did not reflect this change. It still indicated the filtering setting was set to Anisotropic, but this wasn't true. Switching to any other setting had no effect on the graphics. Switching back to Anisotropic didn't restore anisotropic filtering, either.

I had to use the external ME config utility in order to change the setting and fix it.

This has happened to me twice:

1.- After installing Pinnacle Station (on the original ME installation which had been sitting on my hard drive for years. I had been playing ME+BDTS before that, without issues)

2.- After reinstalling ME along with the expansions (I didn't play the game again before reinstalling everything, and I made sure to get rid of all the config files and any other valuable leftovers, to simulate a clean installation.)

I know that I'm not the only one with this kind of problem, at least one more person was affected by it, and requested assistance (though the solution was never posted). I tried to contact him, without success.

I have no way of being 100% certain that Pinnacle Station caused it, but since it does reset graphics settings, I think it's extremely likely. At least, a warning should be posted about this somewhere. I suspect that most people will use the in-game graphics options menu since it's more convenient to use, without knowing it won't work as it's supposed to.

And this is just a technical issue I complain about, I actually did like Pinnacle Station. Seems, however, that some people expected something different or didn't like the idea of having to pay for it (I'm sure they'll be very disappointed once they play ME2, if they haven't done so yet).
