I wonder if you make your Hawke have black skin colour is your sister also black?

You'd hope so... but probably not.

What if this is the story of the man who becomes the Big Great Human Emperor Who Takes Over All Humaness.

The next story could be the rise of the Elven Emperor and the next the rise of a new Dwarven king. Then the next would be a Qunari......

That's what I think anyway. Depressing.

no1 likes playing as dwarves!

the customisation will still be there, and i think if the changing your charcter chanegs your sisters character, eg skin colour, eye colour etc, then it would be awesome

i personally am not fussed about loosing dwarf and elf player characters, always played as humans anyway hahaha

Would be neat, but probably not.

I always thought it'd be a neat idea in Origins if the appearance of your family members in your origins was altered based on how you created your character. The Couslands, forever, could be altered to have some random traits of your human noble.
Alas, my genious was born too soon.

DA2 looks really good (from the little we've seen) and I'm probably getting it.

But I'm just saying that it'll suck if we only ever get to play as humans and elves for the rest of the franchise.

They could always make an action RPG where you play a dwarf and mages aren't even a factor beyond "kill them first". The franchise is allowed to have spin-offs. Hell, they could even make a straight Dragon Age action game: as long as it wasn't "Dragon Age 3", I wouldn't have a problem.

DRAGON AGE: PARAGON

Or whatever.

Though, if I'm honest, I really want a Garahel God of War clone set 400 years prior to the Dragon Age.

Personally I can't play as a dwarf. Not aesthetically pleasing. Narcicism is crucial to character choice for me. There are several games I haven't played because I think the main character is ugly and I can't connect with the character as a result.

And it's a shame, because IMO the dwarves have the best origin stories short of the mages in DA:O. They're just unpleasant to look at.

I played through Origins 4 times as a dwarf (male and female on both commoner and noble) and I can say they are by far by favorite race. Humans are ok, but I prefer to play other races in fantasy/sci fi games. Elves just suck, imo. It was a pain for me to play through the Dalish elf story. My gawd it was so generic it hurt!

the dwarves has interesting origin stories, but in my opinion it would be hard to believe if a surface dwarf became the champion of a human town in the free marshes

would be like a human being declared a paragon, wouldnt fit in

i personally think it would be great if they did an expansion showing a dwarf in orzammar, or maybe a whole game, could be the dwarves fighting the darkspawn back, or maybe when the darkspawn first attacked

just would not fit into dragon age 2

Not really depressing at all. I prefer playing as a human.

And other people don't. But obviously they don't deserve a "cinematic" experience. There's only so much "cinema" to go around.

Correct.  Only human males deserve a 'unique' and 'cinematic' experience.  Everything in addition to this is just baggage that the developers waste their zots on in moments of drunken weakness.

ummmm....you can be a human female too.

Yeap, pretty much, though Dagna seems to think the lack of dwarven mages has something to do with their close approximation to raw lyrium (desensitization, perhaps). So with more and more surface dwarves popping up--heck, it's almost to the point where surface dwarves outnumber the underground variety--it's possible that there will be dwarven mages in the future.

Though they'd lose that 10% immunity to spells.

Yes but this goes into the study of evolution and I'm wondering if bioware would put that in the game. It takes 1000s of years for creatures to evolve and adapt. It won't be dragon age anymore.

This is a serious mistake if our only choice is to play a dull white male. Since, oooh forever, RPG's have boasted that broad range of possibilities in character development that I think is half the reason we like 'em, so to be stuck with just one (called Hawke, ahem!!! You may as well call him Thud Grindhard!!) is a retrograde step.

but if you are able to customize skin color, you could play as a male or female of many skin tones.

It shouldn't be a surprise that there will most likely never be a dwarven character, just like there will most likely never be an elven main character.  They are both the minority races in a world controlled by humans, and to a lesser extent, the chantry.

I am a fan of the dwarves, and I wouldn't mind being proven wrong, but I don't see it happening outside of a dlc.

Who knows, maybe DA3 (or 4, or 5) will go back to it's origins (lame pun, I know) and everyone will rejoice.

I just hope they make diffrent storys about various hero's, each from an Origin race.

A dwarf way to Paragonism (is that the correct term?).

An elf that makes a name for himself, wich results in humans being more accepting of elfs giving them higher positions etc.

And maybe something about Qunari i'm still curious about them, the codex and Sten give us very little information about them.
