I don't know his origin right now, but the way they are describing the character to me is: Peter is the new kids Uncle Ben. If I were Peter, I'd be honored. (Unless of course they stray from the plan mentioned. Like I said I don't know the origin.)

Not many people do. Most of the major stuff will remain, with the exception of the JLA. Some people are getting new origins. It's a remake for some like Batman and GL, and a reboot for others. I'm very confused. I'm told it's going to be a good place to start reading, so I'm gonna check out the first couple of issues.

id rather have batman/superman/flash/etc all the bigname characters die and have a dc universe where all the dc legacy characters are dead instead of a reboot.

imagine the new heroes to emerge with such a rich history behind them.

been a teen titans fan for awhile. any news on what happens to the cast? I saw the new titans cover not have some of the old founding characters like Raven and new characters like that witchblade girl.

Lulz but in serriousness. I liked the JL, and JLA Comics. Oh well taken with the reboot overall another reason for me to NOT go back to reading comics. Least my Manga's don't stab me in the eye, or go up on prices for 20 colored pages.

EDIT ALSO there used to be a huge number of DC/Marvel cross over titles. Back in the early, mid 90's. When comics were the most popular. Some Universal Civil War deal went down, with a "combination" effect, such as Batman and Wolverine combining to make a new hero who's name totally escapes me. Some dude in a red and blue Jacket became a new hero and often led adventures, such as Superman and the Silver Surfer. Everyone thought it would be so cool and all that, but it fell on its face. Funny what we forget in a few years.

I think part of it is to make comics more accesible to new readers.  Some folks see all the old continuity as a barrier.

I really don't think that the Superman lawsuit is going to go anywhere.  The two guys got a raw deal, but it was legal.

It already went somewhere. They ended up spitting the character in two. The origin and look went to the creaters while DC kept the stories and some other stuff. I was a little confused by it.

1. Raven was not a founding member. (The original members where Robin, Speedy, and Aqualad)
2. Cyborg is on the JLA now.
3. Starfire is kicking it with Jason Todd in, Red Hood and the Outlaws. (Not sure where Raven is.)

blaaargh. i wantz 2 know wharr raven eez! X_X does she go full-demon in the reboot?  and  don get cyborg, he was in theteen titans and now hes suddenly old enough to b in school with superman in smallville.

It's so hard to tell anything from that pic SpiderFan...

The pic makes her look a bit cheesy, but then again it's out-of-context and really doesn't even give a good look at the suit.

I'm going to say that, based on the Bane photos I've seen I think Catwoman is going to be cool.

It's canon, particularly much more for DC (pre-reboot) since Busiek integrated the cosmic egg into his subsequent DC works. Marvel has it in mention in its handbooks, but has since reestablished TOAA as the supreme Marvel being followed by the wielder of the Heart of the Infinite(or Universe depending on whose referring to it) and then Living Tribunal landing in third. All the other abstacts (Eternity, Oblivion, etc..) assume the same hierarchy more or less. DC's power ranking is even more convoluted than Marvel, particulary after the reboot since we haven't seen everyone and their current abilities yet...

well looks like Patty Jenkins is out and Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) is in to helm the sequel to Thor. Curious to see how they interpret key villains like Surtur, Hela, or Mangog...particularly Surtur whose tall as a frickin skyscraper, Odin's equal in power and wields Twilight, a dimension cleaving sword lol

Speaking of relaunches I wouldn't have mind if they ended Thor at the Ragnarok arc from Disassembled...instead they had featured him in the abysmal Civil War event in the form of a clone. Like Thor hasn't been cloned by the Celestials before...

Objective truth. The reason all those heroes died when Thanos had the Infinity Gauntlet was because Squirrel Girl hadn't existed in the Marvel universe yet. It totally would've ended with her kicking his ass otherwise. None of that Nebula to Adam Warlock plot contrivance crap.
