Adaptations of the characters and storylines from "God Loves, Man Kills." Number one, Reverend Stryker has to be a reverend, or you might as well not use him. His crusade doesn't mean much if it's not a mission from God; ain't nothin' more hackneyed than the US military engaging in secret projects for strange ulterior motives.
Number two, engaging in standard cartoon villainy in costume? Really, later writers? Thanks. That's special. Really adds gravitas to the original presentation.

1. all heroes in the comics wear unrealistic skin tight costumes which in real like will look REDICULOUS and EMBARRASING.
2. all the main characters even regular people have unrealistically over defined muscular structures, which you dont see in real life nor in the recent Marvel & DC based Movies.
3. the comics are almost all about the heroes making regular people weak and stupid, humans as a race will advance in technology so that they can destroy the super villans the heroes fight and in the comic universe that IS POSSIBLE.
4. The Good vs Evil thing in comics, even the antiheroes its a good verses evil thing.
5. Marvel &DC comics overall are too unrealistic for the above reasons and more for me to take them seriously, plus I dont like the slightly exaggerated art style in those comics.
The Marvel DC based movies thats been coming out lately are more real to me than the comics themselves.

1. Punisher wears Kevlar and battle armor. Ironman wear the suit. Batman's suit has all sorts of stuff to make it useful. Captain America wears armor. Not to mention:They are superheros. Spandex comes with the territory.
2. Lot's of supporting characters have less then satifactory appearances. Also, if you were running around fighting crime on a daily bases you'd look pretty good too. Comes with the territory.
3. The comics are full of people without super powers that pwn Metahumans all the time. Ironman, Punisher, Ironfist, Shang Chi, Elektra, (Who is a boss, by the way) Not mention the slew of villian who are tech based.
Plus, I believe there is a JL story about a certain Human, Batman, beating the rest of the JL, SINGLEHANDEDLY!!
4.Well... duh. That's kind of the point.
EDIT: Check out the Marvel's Civil War. A whole slew of pointless good v. good in there.
5. Your complaint about comics, you know the stories about Alian saviors, and radioactive spiders, is that they are too unrealistic. Well, Ok you got me there.

I forgot to mention, amost alien in both comic universes I have seen are humanoid! also unrealistic!
Right because it's impossible for any species to evolve to look like us, right? I mean, that's never happened before.

Well, if realism is what the people are after, enjoy this short video of Miss Marvel.

Right cuase it makes totaly sense that she would be in costume on her day off, which she doesn't have as she is an Avenger.

Ah, you mean the PIS factor. Yes, this is indeed a powerful weapon, but it is still a weapon. You see Bats invinted a gas formula that makes any and all people who breath it in complete and total morons. This is why when he defeats the JL they didn't just rush him and punch him once.

How does iron man defy kinetic energy? I mean, when he plummets upon the earth, why won't he be messed up inside that suit of his? The start of the first movie, when Stark first conceives a suit is a prime example.
Just that I somewhat enjoy the movies, and used to watch a lot of cartoons about him - so I'm wondering if somewhere deep into the lore someone offered any half-decent explanation (or something resembling that)...

No explanation of this has ever been given. To my knowledge. Admittedly, I hate Ironman and avoid his titles, but I'm still pretty sure your supposed to believe that the armor protects him somehow. Also, it's a comic, just go with it, I guess.

I haven't really been involved with DC since they started the whole Infinite Crisis arc. I'm most likely picking up the first part of Smallville season 11 when its collected in paperback in a couple of months. I also wasn't that thrilled when I heard that DC was revamping the whole universe instead of making it as part of another earth. Its been a while now and I'm wondering should I just go head and jump back in or is it even worth it?
I haven't been reading everything so I can't tell you about it all, but Suicide Squad, Deathstroke, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Teen Titans, Superboy, Super Girl, and World's Finest are all worth reading.
Especially Red Hood, and World's Finest. Mainly cause Power Girl and Red Hood are Awesome.

Interesting, while I have never been a huge DC fan, I have fallen in love with Batwoman. I have enjoied their three arcs so far, and it is refreshing chatacter to read.

The original plan for JLA/Avengers was for him to lose his fight with Captain America. Instead the fight never really happened, the two felt each other out, and Batman conceded that Cap could beat him.Megaton_Hope wrote...

That's how they resolve slugfests. He who has the greatest support from the audience is declared the victor. It's always a draw if they're pitting their greatest heroes against one another. Otherwise they get nasty letters and canceled subscriptions.Blastback wrote...

Batman and Cap shouldn't be able to meet, anyway. DC occupies a more genericized earth, you can't take a train from Gotham to Chicago.

true fact. this is even true within a publisher's own universe. I mean if you read for example Spiderman comics, he's doing all these crazy things. But then if he shows up in say a Black Panther issue, every event caters more to the Panther for some strange reason. Same I think with Batman and Cap in the Marvel Vs. DC crossover.

Well, that's a little different. Appearances in another hero's title are handled by writers more familiar with that character, and are expected to be read mostly by that hero's fans. But when two heroes are fighting one another, it adds a whole other level of grief if the "wrong one" wins, regardless of their relative power.
It just kinda makes no sense sometimes though. Sometimes you'll be reading an issue and two characters will have a scuffle or get in a situation and you, as a knowledgable fan, will notice that the writer leaves out important things about the other character that make no sense to leave out. I was so frustrated everytime Iron Man's extremis armor's "processing unit" was shut down by EMP's in other books cause anyone who knew the character would know that would mean literally taking his brain offline.....killing him. I just think the writers ought to do some research when they decide to have another character appear in one of their story lines.

Batman's great when it isn't a fanboy who thinks he's perfect writing him. Same with Wolverine. The problem is that the characters fanboys have become thier writers. Some Geth wrote...
