Then for awhile I used to prefer DC.
Now I prefer certain creators. So if Mark Waid or Gail Simone are writing it, I'll give it a go. If Terry Moore is involved, I'm there. Palmiotti, Gray and Conner - I'm buying it.
I don't have characters / teams / titles anymore that I "have to" buy, as a change in editors, writers, artists or direction for a company can all lead to me losing interest rapidly in the book.
Right now the only Marvel stuff I'm really following is the Annihilation Wars space storylines - especially the excellent work Abnett and Lanning do on their titles. Outside of that Marvel really started losing me at around Avengers Disassembled and all the Civil War / House of M / Secret Invasion crap that followed. There have been hold-outs here and there - I think Young Avengers was a decent book, and that Runaways was excellent up until it ended.
I honestly find myself having more fun with a lot of licensed properties right now - Dragon Age, True Blood, Buffy and Angel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, etc.
There are a few DC books that are still entertaining me - the Lantern stuff is still pretty good, as Johns is often a very good writer. And I'm curious as to how JMS's run on Superman and Wonder Woman will go.

Lol this looks just like a cover of an Issue of Superman back in the day when they had him fighting Ali.

And I now have another reason to not read Spidey. That's bad. Very bad
I'm a bit more skeptical. I recently read the latest Green Lantern Corps and there was a serious amount of WTF???-moments.MerinTB wrote...

Dead superheroes brought back by 'the power of love', was the least of it.

It looks alright, but the artist is "Meh"... The odd, super-cartoony proportions aren't my thing.
Love Amazing Spider-Man and New Avengers btw.

It's by Humberto Ramos. All his work is like that. He's actually my favorite penciler.

Also pulling Conan (Marvel was nuts to lose this property. Dark Horse is kicking ass on this title) and Walking Dead (my fave).
I needed to trim down my pull list awhile back, but can now afford to bulk it up a bit again. Any suggestions? JMS's Superman looks interesting and I'm thinking about pulling Ultimate Spiderman again. I have most of them, but stopped pulling it when Johnny Storm and Bobby Drake moved in with the Parkers.
Oh, and Spiderfan, the recent AMS Kraven arc did indeed rock.

I would definatly recommend Ultimate Spider-Man. (Then again I recommend anything that doesn't involve Gwen Stacy falling off a bridge and snapping her neck.) Don't know much about DC, so I can't really help you there. I think GL is doing something interesting.

Secret Warriors is a good series as well. It's about Nick Fury (not as hardcore as Frank Castle, but up there) assembling a team of newbie super-heroes and generally kicking butt.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. What do you think of the 2 page back up Spidey story Stan Lee has been doing in AMS? I feel bad saying it, but it's a bit underwhelming to me. Also, I like this book very much (see below)

The Deadpool movie seemed to be getting off on the right foot with Ryan Reynolds starring, Zombieland scribes Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick penning the script, and Robert Rodriguez in talks to direct the film.
Now it appears that the Green Lantern stint for Reynolds may end up silencing the merc with a mouth completely. Deadpool comic creator Rob Liefeld took to his Twitter account and hinted about the film's future troubles in a few tweets:
"Warner Bros. just trying to protect their investment. They don't want Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool AND Green Lantern. Interesting 2 watch."
"Bottom line about Deadpool film is that if FOX doesn't pull the DP film together with Ryan Reynolds between GL films-they should Hari Kari Ryan."
"Reynolds is the new Will Smith, if FOX can't maximize this window of opportunity with this star, this character, that script=MASSV FAIL"
Of course, Warner Bros. wants to keep Reynolds locked down for future Green Lantern installments, but if Fox can't capitalize on Reynolds fast enough and get the ball rolling on Deadpool then he might get shut out from shooting the film next year. Last week Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix scribe Michael Goldenberg was brought aboard to write the script for the Green Lantern sequel.
Rumors are also swirling around that Warner Bros. is looking to turn GL into a trilogy. If Reynolds has to shoot Green Lantern sequels back-to-back next year then he won't have any time in his schedule for Deadpool. Green Lantern is currently in post-production and is scheduled for a June 17, 2011 release.
So what do you guys think about the Green Lantern movie killing off Reynolds' chances with Deadpool? Would you still see Deadpool if Reynolds was no longer involved? Who could fill his shoes?

If they have to delay it a few years to get him, then so be it.

I'll still see the film, Reynolds or not, but if they have to boot him it's a shame. I must confess I'm not surprised though as Deadpool and Green Lantern in one year? That's cutting it close.

im more of a dc guy but i love deadpool just as much as green lantern wich is a huge fanboyism from me. imo i think marvels best bet is to recast because if reynolds does the lantern trilogy back to back then the safe bet is to recast instead of cancelling it

Seems like it is more Fox Entertainment killing Reynolds chances with Deadpool then the Green lantern movie(I am hoping that turns into movies).
I will see it regardless of the actor that is portraying Deadpool but I would like it to be Reynolds.
Maybe Daniel Tosh? I dunno I always fail at these hypothetical "what actor should play this role" questions.

I am more happy that the comic companies are taking more of a role in making the movies instead of selling the licenses out to 3rd parties. I wonder if those contracts came with the clause "Stan Lee gets a cameo no matter what"
Adrianne Brody... I am not a fan but I am a wait and see type of person. Everyone gets a chance. More depressed about another reboot which means the first movie is just going to be the whole inrtoducing the characters, why they have these powers, and such. That could make it a "wait till its on DVD" for me.
