Thor > Green Lantern > Deadpool

next years gona be a great summer for us comic fans seeing as green lantern thor and captain america will be in theatres

I am more happy that the comic companies are taking more of a role in making the movies instead of selling the licenses out to 3rd parties. I wonder if those contracts came with the clause "Stan Lee gets a cameo no matter what"
Adrianne Brody... I am not a fan but I am a wait and see type of person. Everyone gets a chance. More depressed about another reboot which means the first movie is just going to be the whole inrtoducing the characters, why they have these powers, and such. That could make it a "wait till its on DVD" for me.

im not a very big marvel fan but i do love me some iron man and silver surfer and some thor and spiderman. other than that dc is more my reading material. i still think that once ff gets reebotted they def need to work on mr fantastics cgi because that looked terrible in the last 2 films

Growing up (in my original comic book phase. Late 80's early 90'S) I did not really have a favorite company. DC, Marvel, Image, and a coupole others all had great comics. A few years ago My sister pointed my Nephew at me because he was interested in and even now its still split between the two.
They have seen to matured a bit two. Maybe thats just me and the decade plus gap between being interested in the comics.
Marvel did a big crossover called Civil War a few years back. How does one explain to someone so young (hes 8) why Ironman and Captain America or fighting and why its okay for the bad guys to be rounding up good guys and sticking them in a jail?
Then there was my shock while reading them that they pretty much wiped out all the mutants in a previous crossover (House of M I think it is) and instead of millions of mutants there were like 150 left.

I can imagine making Mr.Fantastics powers being something difficult to make look realistic.  Its such an out there thing. Energy blasting, flying, fire, turning invisible are all things movie makers have experiance with and some prior examples to look at when they are rendering them but the super stretchy man is something new.

Now I am giggling about The Venture Brothers take on the fantastic four.

Working my way (slowly) through my Wolverine/Wolverine: Origins backlog. It's pretty good, although the story is a bit strange (it's the bit with Doctor Strange)

My top 5 favorite titles currently being produced are:

1) Ultimate Comics Spiderman 2) Fantastic Four 3) Shield 4) Ultimate Avengers (both) 5) New Mutants (would be X-force but it just ended and I won't know how I feel about the restart until I have read it)

I'm going to be picking up the latest X-Force series (Starts with Blood & Honor in trades, I think. Can't remember the name off hand) 'cos I think X-23 is adorable and I quite like Domino. Can't say I'm a Wolverine fan, but it's hard to get away from him. I'm a Deadpool fan which instantly means Wolverine is going to appear, so I've decided to get used to the character rather than get fed up with him.

Did I mention Lady Deadpool #1 was good?

The Dark Tower is a really good series from Marvelatm. It rivals some of Dark Horse's comic series based on books, like Conan.

Spider-Woman was a favourite of mine, but it seems to be canceled for some reason.

if robert rodrieguez directs dead pool fox needs to cast someone who can fit the merch role, i like ryan but he sighed a trilogy deal for green lantern so instead of canning dead pool they should recast.

I used to be really into Marvel comics when I was a young lad till my early teenage years. I think sometime around the Onslaught arc I pretty much fell off the bandwagon though. I recently started reading comics again, however Marvel has proven pretty difficult to get into. My biggest problem with Marvel is that they indulge a bit too much in the huge cross over events (the recent Civil War being the biggest offender) and that there is a distinct lack of strong female leads in the whole universe outside of the X-Men.

Earth X, Runaways (first few volumes at least), and anything Thunderbolts related are all quite great though.

Been meaning to get that. I loved the book series (hence the signature :P), and I keep meaning to get the trades but they're so damned expensive on Amazon, so I've been getting cheaper stuff like Deadpool, Spellbinders (Why did I buy that? WHY!?) and the expensive Pixie Strikes Back trade.

I've noticed this too. If it's not a team-up book don't expect many heriones to be the star, but they are starting a new Spider-Girl series.

Edit: ^  What happened here.  ^

Your quoting was broken as part of the tag was missing. I fixed it for you.

Elektra, Ms Marvel, Black Widow & Spider-Woman have their own comic book series. All are pretty strong characters, though not always necessarily heroines.

And there's also Fantastic Four... where Susan Storm is the most level-headed & leads the team most of the time.

There's also Lady Deadpool (One shot, also stars in Deadpool Corps), She-Hulk and a bunch of others. Marvel have been running a "Women of Marvel" season or something because there's all these female-based comics. Marvel Her-Oes is one that comes to mind. Pixie Strikes Back is female lead (Pixie, Armor, Blindfold, Mercury (<3) and X-23 (<3)), too. Mystique had her own series, Psylocke just had a self-titled trade released, Pepper Potts became Rescue (I think) and so much more.

The first series is pretty much a retelling of The Wizard and Glass. The others mostly fill in the gaps between that and Jericho Hill. Expanding on the little that we know of Rolands Youth. There is also a one shot that follows Marten Broadcloak, Randall Flagg, The Walking Man or whatever you feel like calling him.
King has also stated he will be writing a new Dark Tower book and the whole movie thing (the idea torments me) is still up in the air. Last I heard Its now Ron Howard up to bat after J.J. Abrahms and crew dropped out.

I'd very much like a new Dark Tower book, but only if one Jack Sawyer is the main protagonist.

I really hope Marvel reissues the X-23 trades as they're darned hard to get hold of for a decent price. She's got an ongoing coming up (Yaaaaay :3) so now's a good time.

I'm more annoyed about them killing Bucky...again. That they were going to cave on him being Captain America with the new movie coming out was inevitable. But killing him in the process was uneccessary and that it was done really lamely in the terrible Fear Itself plotline was insulting.

Between that and DC doing the same bad Image makeover that Marvel once did, I think I might be giving up comics again for a bit.

We don't know that it's a terrible storyline... yet. I hope I don't regret saying that. I do like the Fear Itself: Spider-Man issues. They fit the character really well.

Its been terrible so far. And sacrificing Barnes so they could say something important happened during it, didn't help any. I mean really, he decided to engage someone more powerful than Thor in direct hand to hand combat. He's alot smarter than that.

Image IPB  I know, but we should at least wait till the ending. Maybe it gets really good. They have two issues left.  Image IPB
