That Pic of Harley just stinks! Her Character had really grown into a very complex mix of a little craziness mixed with a sick sense of fun and she was interesting. There she just looks like a Psycho.

Grown into? That's been the character since she was created. Harley hasn't grown an inch.

I have to disagree...

She started as simply the Joker's Girl and quickly gained her own (sadly cancelled early) Title and then into Gotham City Sirens and the whole time she grew more independent of the Joker. I'm not saying it's world-shaking growth, but she had some really great moments...she was also mostly able to control herself...that pic just looks over the top.

On another note, I just checked out the DC chatboards for the 1st time in ages...quite the debate going on over there.

All comic book forums (well more like DC and Marvel) have crazy debates that go nowhere, the things I have seen make this forum look like it's paradise.=]

Who here is also a huge Deadpool fan?

In my opinion, Deadpool is the coolest character from Marvel. He's the source and inspiration of everything crazy. When an idea seems to be too crazy for any other character, it's not too crazy for Deadpool. There is no such thing as too crazy for Deadpool.

I'm a big fan Kelly's and an even bigger fan of Nicieza's Deadpool. Not much for Way's Deadpool though, mostly because I find him to be over the top.
Cable & Deadpool was pretty sweet. One of my favorite books ever.

Funny, because I'm actually a big fan of Daniel Way's Deadpool series.

I also love Deadpool Corps. More Deadpools than you can shake a stick at! Gotta love Deadpool Corps!

Though I'm not a big fan of Rob Liefeld's art, which is ironic since he's the original creator of Deadpool.

The best thing about Deadpool is his 4th wall destruction. He knows he's in a comic and everything is a joke to him.
Anyone else play Ultimate Alliance 2? The end credits where he gets pissed off at the game director is comedy gold!

hehe it also worth noting his humor in Marvel Vs Capcom 3. One of his specials is grabbing his health bar and beating his oponent with it.
Beat him with She-Hulk and she'll go "in 1992 I would've beat you with MY health bar" ROFL

And then two months later she went back to Joker. No growth.

I could deal with yet another revamp, I could deal with a full reboot (preferably after Batman, Inc.'s conclusion!) (indeed I was inspired by all this to come up with one of my own), but rebooting most everyone and everything that doesn't have a close connection to Batman and Green Lantern's corners of the DCU while leaving those nearly untouched and compressing all that into a mere five years (although obviously aware of that at least Batman gets additional years "in secret") is just begging for continuity holes about the size their previous shying away from a 100% reboot left them with after Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Also, the Milestone characters might fit in, but the WildStorm ones work better in their own separate universe, not as part of the 52-iverse, let alone on the main DCU Earth. Granted, they wrote themselves into a corner by going all post-apocalyptic, but despite one's having to give them kudos for sticking with it, undoing it wouldn't have been all that hard.

Anyway, my faves in both houses are mostly the Silver/Bronze Age big guns and Iron/Modern Age teen characters, but I have favorites all over the place.

And I loved the Second Supremeverse and the Ultimate Universe until they ruined both by abandoning the former and handing the latter to Jeph Loeb.

I really think they should of done a full reboot.:?

And I think DC of all places should be done with reboots. It's getting to the point where I don't know anything for sure about my favorite characters. And what the hell is the point of following a character if they just up-end everything every few years?

This +1000!!!

They had a really good thing going coming out of "Blackest Night" and could have just rolled with it...
Of course, they had a good thing going after a lot of Events and could have just rolled with it.

It's all Dan Didio...I'll go to my grave saying it. I hold him mostly responsable for the present mess that is DC. He was Editor when everything that ever died in the DCU was brought back to life & it was his desire to put all "the Originals" back into their costumes.

I really haven't been paying too much attention, but I keep hearing about Blue Beetle. Does that mean that Ted Kord wasn't Murdered now?

Jaime's starting from scratch with a new IC-less origin and an even more bloodthirsty scarab. If either of the previous two Blue Beetles even exist(ed), let alone has any connections to Jaime, is as of yet unknown.

Well, at least the Murder of Ted Kord still stands then.

That's one death I don't ever want to see undone. I liked him, but the Murder scene has stuck with me since I read it. Pointed out how truely sensless that kind of violence is.

I think I feel the opposite of that. Bringing Ted Kord back would be the one decent thing to come out of this mess. Certainly would have been a better choice than many of the ones they brought back during Blackest Night. I miss the Ted Beetle. Booster Gold just isn't as fun without him. Jamie just isn't interesting.

Barbara Gordon and the Killing Joke was always the best example for senseless violence for me. Taking out one of the Bat Family, not in a costumed battle, but simply for opening a door at the wrong time.

Way pretty much ran me off of Deadpool.  Which is sad, cause Deadpool is what got me into comics in the first place.  He just doesn't have a good command of Deadpool's voice.  And he's to hit or miss.  Some issues had me howling, but most of them were just bland.

In my opinion, Kelly Simone, and Nicieza are probably Deadpool's best writers, in that order.

That said, if your a Deadpool fan, you need to check out Uncanny X-Force.  Best depiction of Wade in years.

And on a completly diffrent note, Capcom is releasing an Ultimate edition of Marvel vs Capcom 3, with new characters, including Dr. Strange, Iron Fist, Nova, Hawkeye, and Rockett Raccoon!

So glad I just rented the game.

Wow...
We have totally opposite views on both of these! Image IPB

I felt that Ted's death had such a great impact! It was, by no means, what would be called a "Good Death"...he was simply shot in the head by Lord. No Heroic "blaze of glory" or anything like that. He was completely helpless and done in by a complete Sociopath...it felt so real somehow. I was never much of a Booster fan, but there were a few well-done changes to him that showed just how much he was hurting.

Barbara's shooting in "The Killing Joke" was IMO, meant to be senseless and leave the reader staggered. It was completely random that she was the one who happened to answer that knock at the door and there have been several times in a few titles where her inability to be Batgirl anymore or even to walk again really lead to some heart-wrenching moments.

I really have been trying to avoid all things Reboot, but if I heard correctly she's coming out of the chair somehow. Another huge mistake in my view. Her disability actually made her stronger and more important not only to the DCU but to a lot of disabled Fans as well.

This is one of the things I love about well-written comics, Cutless...two Fans can read the same thing and see it in such different ways and yet discuss it in a way that shows we like & care about what happens to our favorite Characters.

Actually I think our opinions on Barbara sound exactly the same.Image IPB

If one thing about the reboot angers me enough to drop DC, its making Barbara Batgirl again. And I say this even though the Barbara version is my favorite. Her return as Oracle turned her from a third string character to one of the most important in DCU. All while being disabled. The current Batgirl series was a good compromise between both identities. Stephanie was a more fun version like the original, but Barbara was still an important part of the book.

On Ted Kord's death. I guess my issue with it is they've been trying to retcon most of that story anyways. Not because of his death, but because of Wonder Woman killing Lord publicly. So all we're left with is my favorite Beetle dead for no reason. Might as well bring him back at that point. At least there was a fun arc in Booster Gold's book recently where he went back in time to reteam with him.

To be honest Cutlass Jack...from what I've seen, they might as well do anything they want just because what they're doing CAN'T get any worse...

I still & will always believe that DC's great 21st Century downfall begins and ends with Dan Didio. He made so many horrible Editorial decisions like bringing Barry Allen and Hal Jordan back (which he's repeatedly said is something HE wanted to see) and spamming the shelves with Titles that were barely given a chance or ran too long. I honestly haven't disliked a Comic Industry figure this much since John Byrne...and I HATED John Byrne! lol

As much as I hate pointing the finger at a single person in a company, its hard not to at Didio over this. They really seem to be doing whatever they want on this reboot. Which is probably why I'll just save my money and wait it out until they undo it when it flops.

True story: John Byrne used to be my favorite person in comics. Right up until the time I travelled to a distant convention to meet him in person. Which turned my opinion to one pretty similar to yours....
