Barbara Gordon and the Killing Joke was always the best example for senseless violence for me. Taking out one of the Bat Family, not in a costumed battle, but simply for opening a door at the wrong time.

Heck, if I remeber correctly, Alan Moore wishes they hadn't let him paralyse Barbra.  My problem is that the Killing Joke is supposed to be about the relationship between Batman and the Joker, but that story got derailed by paralyzing Batgirl.

haha their selling point is a doom like First person sequence? I swear aside from that it looked like Toby's Spiderman 1 frame for frame. If their going to spend half the movie building up his origins again I just can't get excited for this. I want to but their not giving me much to go on.

I'm hopefull for Spider-Man. I really like the casting. Just hope they let him be funny this time.

I think making a redhead Gwen is revenge for making a blonde Mary Jane....

In what reality does that even look remotely red head? and when was MJ ever blonde?

I was talking about the hair color of actresses playing the parts. (I could have phrased that clearer above) Kirsten Dunst is blonde, but dyed her hair red to play MJ. Emma Stone is a redhead who went blonde to play Gwen.

I hate Alan Moore and I hate this New Spider-man along with this trend of hiring British people to play Americans. Superman is an American, don't even start.
And did I hear they're doing the origin again? Who doesn't know that story backwards and forward now? That applies to both characters.

Emma Stone is a natural blonde.

Why do you hate Alan Moore? and really what is the big deal if British people play Americans?

As for the new Spder-Man movie it really looks like they are going for a "Batman Begins" feel to it, well it can't get any worse than the Raimi films.

I can't say I'm found of the new suit, but I'm going to give the new Spidey flick a chance before I say whats what about it. I really do hope it's good and that for once Gwen can stay clear of all Goblins and symbiotes.

Absolutely have to give the Film a chance IMO. These things are so hit and miss that there's no way to tell from Trailers.

Agree with you guys on the suit, too.

Saw it Today (or would that be yesterday? how does midnight work?). But anyway I liked it very much. The very last portions were a bit awkward (about the last 10-15 minutes) but up till then it was a blast. Chris Evans is another perfect choice by Marvel studios, and the easter egg scene is far and away the best yet.

Seconding Ghost Lighting's opinions. It was just short of perfect. They nail the character of Steve Rogers.

So there's at least a chance that the Avengers movie will be good. I thought the Thor movie was pretty underwhelming.

Well, you might want to take my opinions with a grain of salt, as I loved Thor.

On the other hand, Joss Whedon.

Oh yes Joss Whedon's name alone can make me excited. If anyone can pull it off its him. I mean his run on X-men was some of the best written comics I've ever read.
Also Runaways

It's kinda sad what's happened to Astonishing X-Men since he went off the title.
