We have been around for a long time and are constantly improving things.  The settings takes place on a factitious island around the years 500-700.  The primary setting is norse mythology but there is plenty of magical beings and races that extend beyond it.  Midgard is a very hostile island where conflict is never ending, ravaged by wars many if not all are still bitter, none more than those that lost, the dark races living deep underground with only thoughts of revenge and destruction.

Features (Please check of the official website for more in depth information or our FAQ on the forums: http://midgardsaga.m...php?f=29&t=2738
  • A unique crafting system
  • A unique resting and food system that can give you bonus exp
  • A persistent chest system that utilizes a mysql database so it's pretty fast
  • Recently added an automated role-playing exp reward system (still in experimental stages)
  • Pixie, vampire and werewolf races.  The vampires do get hurt by sunlight and the wears are nasty beasties but one does need a bit of AP to unlock the special races which is acquired through roleplaying
  • We use our own exp system that I dare say is rather lenient allowing younger adventurers to travel with seasoned ones.
  • We have an interesting death system that allows you to bleed and recover while bleeding, or be resurrected by your deity should you be so lucky.  If not though, there will be a consequence paid in blood (exp) and gold.
  • And well the rest you'll just have to discover or forge yourself

Players do have influence over the worldly events, though things tend to move rather slow at times, and while we don't have too many players around at the moment you all can change that if of course this is something you can enjoy.

hello everyone,

i am a player on midgardsaga and i have been there for like 2 years. i really like the server we are a small close knit community with alot of really good roleplayers. we like so many other NWN2 servers are looking for more players to breathe more life into the server, more players means more diversity and more fun.

as dethia wrote above the server has unique and super cool custom races, craftind system, xp system, chest system and much much more, so the mechanics are in place, but what is even more important, the server has a great feel to it, a medieval atmosphere with a touch of magic and the supernatural.

what i like the most about midgardsaga is the touch of realism and the high difficulty level, cause gardavik is a tough place, surviving here alone is next to impossible - teamwork is required. new player WILL find it hard to level and gain coin alone, but see it as a challenge!, dont be afraid to ask other players or DMs for help. questions are welcome and advice is plentiful, especially for the new gamer who takes hir or her time to visit the servers forum.

I have played on midgardsaga for several months. The best things about this server, and this is a good server, are that DM's are a regular presence and are very approachable. This world is constantly being tweeked. It keeps improving and over time new areas appear or old ones change. The background has depth and clarity that is drawn from history, myth, and fantasy. It is a very enjoyable experience.

If you are up for a challenge, this is your place. Features a custom crafting system as well, which i haven't tried too well. Sadly a bit too complicated for me, and i am not really the one to go around spending my time making items.

The players here are also very good at RP, which should be commended, Dark elves are also restricted to evil only (so no drizzt copies, huzzah!).

Gold is a tad hard to earn at start, but should get easier when you hit around lvl 10 or so.

Rest system is, challenging, personally i find it rather annoying, and time between rests is a bit much at low levels, but gets better once you get better food, and bedrolls. Positive thing is that it makes the glory levels of meleers (early levels), more glorious. Playing a full caster is rough, but is rewarding once you hit higher levels, you feel you have worked well to get up in levels.

Features different starting zones, always positive.

The setup of the areas is rather simple, low level areas are close to the starting areas, and the farther you get from the "starting towns", the harder the monsters get.

Features henchmen for a sum of gold, if no players to party with are avaible.

Few build restrictions.
