So with the new informaiton we have so far regarding DA2 we know Flemeth will be reapearing in some fashion possibly as a joinable NPC. We also know Mike Laidlaw has said the Morrigan's story is not something they are abandoning. We have been told the DA setting is (at this point in time anyhow) planned on being used for future projects. When DAO was first being marketed (and through the remainder of the marketing campaign) we were told that Morrigan was the face of the campaign because she best represented DA universe.
So my mostly baseless speculation is this: that the writers have a grand story arc to tell across multiple games to ecnompass the "Dragon Age" and the fulcrum for the plot is going to be Morrigan. It seems likely that the DR will be canonized (which makes me a little sad as I've always loved my US ending the best) but it really is too great of a plot device to be left unused. I have a feeling we probably won't be seeing Morrigan in DA2 but reference will be made to her, some subplot to DA2 (but integral to the overall plot) involving Flemeth will eventually be tied back to Morrigan.
Well thoughts?
(And yes I am kind of bored at work waiting for some data, so this seemed like a good time-killer.)
Mostly baseless DA theory to kill some time... (DAO spoilers)

Thoughts? The DR won't be canonized, Morrigan will be around, likely being able to thwart Flemeth with or w/o the Warden's help, she can get a baby anytime, but the writers never have to say that it is of Old God essence, but merely mention that it has great power.
As for Morrigan being the focus, I would like to see her being a cameo or a mentor who wanders in and out of different storylines, but they could always drop her (wouldn't like it, but they could).

I'm too in love with Black's voice to ever forgive Bioware if they drop Morrigan.
I'd still buy their games like the little fangirl **** I am, and love them to splinters, but I wouldn't forgive them that one decision.

I know I watched an entire episode of stargate just to listen to her and I normally hate Sci Fi stuff haha.
