In Mass Effect 2, one particular decision regarding Shepard (as I recall) was that the different writers would write Shepard for different plot worlds (though I believe the other characters were segregated). I felt that this ended up creating an issue, particularly that Shepard was someone inconsistent in what charm and intimidate meant. Specifically, in some worlds charm/intimidate was the difference between subtle threat and you-have-five-seconds-or-I-curb-stomp-you and in others it was a very binary diplomatic/threat divide.
Will only one writer write Hawke? Will it be seperated by the time periods?
Also: will Hawke speak mostly in open-ended questions? This is how Shepard spoke 90% of the time, and having worked in sales, I absolutely cannot help but notice it. It's a great way to deliver a neutral inquisitive tone without characterizing Shepard one way or another, but by being neutral it makes for a bland character. Will this be something Hawke will do?
Question for the Writers: Who is writing Hawke?

As a few people have said, all the writers write Hawke's lines in the NPC conversations we're working on. This just requires us to talk to each other and make sure we all understand how the various personalities of Hawke are supposed to sound. Which is not that hard, considering we're all sitting in the same office and can just turn around and ask, "Hey, does this sound right?" We've also got editors who look over everything and make sure we're maintaining some level consistency.
David's already dropped some hints, so we'll probably talk about Hawke's personality choices later.

Im tempted to assume Gaider, but that begs the question, just how much writing does he do and how much leading?
In addition to leading a team of 5 other writers and (currently) four editors, Dave still finds time to put pen to...er...toolset.
He's a bit of a dynamo, as are the whole team. They have been running on afterburners for some time now, and have been doing a hell of a job.Be kind to them, they're kicking ass for you!
As to the question about whether characters are voiced, yes, quite a few are, but recording is always an on-going process. We're working with the same folks who cast, directed and recorded for DA:O, working in both LA and London simultaneously. As you might expect, the characters are coming to life as a result. There's no finer moment than hearing someone make the leap from the automatically generated "robo" VO to a full actor voicing them. It's night and day, if only because we don't have to hear awkward mispronunciations like "Os-TAY-ger" or "Darkspun."

Very interesting...any chance there will be an announcement regarding who is voicing Male and Female Hawke in the future? I know this is a big deal to me, and a lot of people.
I'm sure there will be smoe samples, details and such later on, yes. For now, I will simply assure you that they're sounding really good. Casting the main character is always tricky, we have to make them strong, likeable, cool, smooth, sexy, demure, sly and demanding all at diferent times over the course of the game (largely based on player choice, of course), so you need to find actors with a lot of range.
