I'm unsure if this has been brought up. From what I've read, Hawke's story will be done in a similar fashion to how Shepard in Mass Effect was done. Pretty much, Shepard is Bioware's character. He has his own predetermined backround set by them and they decided for him to be straight (though Femshep and Kelly are the exception). Will the male and female Hawkes follow the same pattern that Shepard has followed and be locked out of any homosexual relationships?

Hawke is not being done the same way Shepard is, though I really don't get what that has to do with romances. In reference to your question, they haven't said yet and I'd imagine you'll just have to wait and see.

I actually hope there will be an exclusively homosexual love interest who will only go for the same gender, as unviable as that is.

I don't know if they said anything about romances yet, but I doubt it will be anything like Shepard.  They've said that Hawke is not defined to the degree Shepard is.

Anyway, there's really no information so far about romances. Hopefully DA2 will offer same-sex romances just like the first game did. And yes, Hawke isn't as defined as Shepard, don't worry too much about what Mass Effect did.

Commander Shepard is a much more
specific character than Hawke is. Shepard is one very particular marine
chosen to do a particularly challenging job. Hawke is somebody who goes from being a refugee to being important to Thedas history somehow.  Defining who Hawke turns out to be and how that happens is sort of where the player comes in to the story.
