Do not want. The Illusive Man is so appealing because he's the enigmatic Anti-Hero with no past.

Oh well.

yeah thats what i thought.

well i cant say im looking forward to it, the prospect of a new comic isnt particularly appealing after having bought redemption which was poor in basicly every respect

Not more comics... Please don't ruin the game by making it a comic book franchise. That's going to kill Mass Effect. Video Game > Comic Book adaptations aren't that good. I'm sorry. But even with Mac Walters. Stop this madness now!

If you don't read them they won't ''ruin'' the game for you.  Pretty simple, huh?  Yeah, thought so...;)

They had potential, but Mac Walters is a mediocre writer.  Farm it out to some of the more established and developed writers in Dark Horse comics, and it would've been good.

People seem to think that Mac Walters wrote the script, when it actually was Miller. Walters gave the outline for the story, he didn't write the off-character Liara, Jackson's responsible for that

Which is why I am now worried for this. The putline for Liara's comic was great, it was the script that suck. I wished they would let Walters write the comic, he is better then Drew IMHO. theo lny character Drew did that I liked was Liara.

You didn't like Tali? Or Anderson and Saren (I think. Not sure if he's the original creator of them)?

Anderson pales in comparison to Walters characters and Saren was plain terrible.

I always thought most of the characters in the original Mass Effect were pretty boring/uninteresting (excluding Wrex and Tali at points.)

Tali and Garrus didn't really become awesome to me until they got actual character development and more defined personalities in Mass Effect 2.

It's not going to be out for another five months.  If I could guess, I would say at least October.

I hope they don't try to make TIM into a good guy. TIM is not a good guy. Ideally, they'll make him as evil a bastard as possible, to make the Cerberus/Shepard alliance/conflict thing that much more interesting. If he's really a good guy, it's boring. If he eats babies with baby seal bone spoons while sitting on your mother's corpse at a table with Satan and Carlos Mencia, your having to work with him has more depth to it.

Walters wrote the comics, and they were mediocre.  End of line.

Ehh, most bad guys really think they are doing good things.  Really I think they're going to show the reasoning behind the actions of TIM and why he started doing all of these things, showing the motive behind his madness.

Really the question of whether or not someone is a pro/antagonist is a matter of perspective.  You know the cliche, "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

He wrote the outline, it was Miller who wrote the script. Nice try.

If I had to guess, I'd say they're going to show his family getting killed in the First Contact War.

Eh...

Part of the reason the Illusive Man is interesting is because he's unknown. Once he's known, he loses his biggest hook.

On top of that, the First Contact War is, in my opinion, infinitely mediocre. The turians are made out to be a rational, if not brash, species. Every turian throughout both games has his head on straight, with the exception of the turian on the Citadel Council, but even he is rational despite being skepticism incarnate. And then there's this one event, the First Contact War, that just doesn't seem to fit with the turian thought process. They attacked the humans for violating a galactic law despite that humans had never heard of the law, let alone the reason behind it.

Trying to write a comic that justifies or explains that war is only going to add more mud to the water. Unless the writing goes that the turians were either lied to or corrupt and after element zero would really fix this black sheep in the turians' character.

Having shrugged my way through Redemption, a story that had a lot of potential but was screwed up, I don't see how BioWare is going to handle itself with Evolution, a story that has very little potential and is likely still to be screwed up.

The comics don't bother me, never read them. My favourite thing about Mass Effect is that so much of the story is left to the imagination, there are things that are explained but still vague enough that it makes the game personal and for your own imagination. Too much explanation would ruin the noir et blanc style of story that I enjoy so much. Essentially, a gamers imagination is the story... makes it their own.

gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/07/20/dead-space-ignition-revealed.aspx

Dead Space: Ignition was just revealed about two hours ago. It's an interactive graphic novel for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

Considering they operate under the same publisher, I don't think BioWare would have such a hard time convincing EA to give a green light for something like this.

Besides, Mass Effect: Galaxy was pretty much a graphic novel, wasn't it?

Is it canon? If not I really don't care. Don't know if I want to know too much about the illusive man before ME3, I mean then he'd just be "know everything about you already" man.

That's not what the comic said.

*goes to look.

Nope, not what the comic says.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, more ME stories is always good (at first, anyway). On the other hand, I didn't think much of Redemption. It answered some questions, left some unanswered, and even raised questions of its own by the time it was over.

Hopefully they don't make the Illusive Man too sympathetic. I found the "new, conveniantly-filled-with-friendly-people" Cerberus of ME2 hard enough to accept. If it turns out their leader is just a tragic, misunderstood lost soul, I'll be very disappointed.

Negativity aside, I'm willing to give this series a chance.
