Can't understand what everyone's going on about with the difficulty. The few areas I've got to so far that have proved controversial on the forum here have been simple.

Playing on hard. Ogre in tower wend down without a healer no problem. Redcliffe was no hassle.

Hope Bioware don't nerf the difficulty because people can't handle a challenge.

Exactly my experience. Redcliffe was a joke, I didnt have to use one poultice. And im on hard as well. Only a few boss fights really gave me trouble.

As far as I know they nerfed easy, nothing has been changed to normal, hard or nightmare. The tower and Redcliffe aren't that hard, however, several encounters with the Dwarves, the mages, and the Dailish elves are quite hard.

please, you guys are just trolling. The game isn't easy. Yes redcliff is easy if you stand up the top of the hill, how about going down the hill and tell me it's easy. The first play through the game, it is not easy. At least not until you learn the combat system thoroughly.

I had a tough time with some of the fights earlier on (normal)...I even got my arse handed to me a couple of times on easy. I don't think the issue is that the game is too difficult. I think the issue is that a lot of people are too lazy to learn a new game that actually requires more thought than "point and click", rush into battle. This generation of gamers has come to expect action/rpgs as the norm, ala Oblivion and company. I'm doing much better, know that I've learned how the game works.

I love when people try to act like they're elite.

Everyone talks about the difficulty - "nah that was easy, I beat everything on hard mode no problem, you guys just suck".

This is not a thread complaining about the game's difficulty, it's bragging to the world that the poster considers himself above average. If you find it too easy, up it to Nightmare, and don't clog up these forums more than necessary.

been playing on hard since the start, pretty much the same experience, revenants (meeting the right one at the wrong gear level) and mass soldiers in the city can be pretty rough.

Those 2 battles you mentioned are walk in the park compared to the battle in the elven ruins.

Depending on party/character spec, some of it can be pretty easy. The Ogre, for example, drops easily on Hard with a decently specced fighter, on the other hand, way harder with a poorly specced Rogue.

it's all about what characters you use and in what order you do things.

lol @ some people saying its not easy. In general, no, its not easy, but so many people are complaining that its impossible on normal. Im not trying to brag, I couldnt give two flying ****s what random people on the internet think of my gaming prowess, but I beat the entire game on hard with less than 30 reloads. Over half the encounters dont even require you to pause. I cant really grasp how people are having so much trouble with it. Maybe my game is just bugged.

or people are just stating their opinion. but then again its hard to do that without being accused of noobness or eliticism.
i don't find the game difficult, as i excel at these kind of games. on the other hand, my skillsets don't fit in with FPS game and I am usually the frag bunny in CS or TF2.
Do understand that all people don't have same way of playing a game.  people have different game experiences depending on their profecicieny. it has nothing to do with "eliticism". but of course, you can keep on telling yourself that, if you wish.

Everyone got different abilities and amount of things they can/can't do.

I'm an cartoonist ,but Mr.A is architecture.

I'm an writer ,but Mr. B is a police officer.

So i won't use myself to judge others.

That's my opinion.

If people can post about it being too hard whats wrong with posting that some people find it too easy? It may just be that some of these people are being truthful and not looking to brag/ gloat.

I wouldn't consider myself an elite gamer BUT Ive found it abit too easy (on normal difficulty)- but challenging for the most part. Thats just how its been for me.

I prefer a challenge over a 'cinematic experience' (ie.  I like feeling that I have accomplished something after defeating a tough foe instead of the game playing itself for me).  Perhaps that helps explain my position and perhaps others as well.

Now for a more serious post. Your first point well the OP does come across as abit of an bragger/gloater, however I am myself fed up seeing all the posts moaning about how hard the game is.

Your second point I agree with especially after the patch. However mess up in some of the fights especially random encounters and its reload time.
The one random encounter with the 102937 Darkspawn archers and 2 stealthy gits gave me fits that is until I discovered the joys of Fireball.. Posted Image

I agree with Risvahs, that I don't either find the game difficult. I started at Hard, went up to level 12 or so, then was slightly disappointed with some choices I've made and restarted at Nightmare. I picked the Rogue class, and killed the Ogre boss without a single character falling in battle and only drinking a few healing potions. I won it simply because I made good use of the pause button and timing of different abilities, not to mention running away when noticing which char the ogre is targetting. I play on PC, which makes the tactical management a bit easier I imagine.

I wouldn't call myself an elitist anyway, as I'm also a fragbunny in elitist FPS games online. But the harder the difficulty is, the more I find myself needing to study the tactical situation and make choices. If I just run headlong into battle, I'll be slaughtered immediately.

Hmm I'm playing through on hard and so far I've found it not too bad, most the fights are a little easy with good strategy which is thankful because it would take 10 years to get through if all the fights are tough.

Hardest battle so far was a certain revenant in a certain house, actually had to change up my regular party and use 2 healers for that one.  Mages are extremely overpowered in this game tho, cone of cold and some other spells are what makes it easy otherwise a lot of battles would be hard.

I don't consider myself elite I just exploit line of sight, pause a TON and micromanage, use quite a lot of potions on the hard fights.  For a lot of people this playstyle would probably not be enjoyable though.

Too easy it aint - I wouldn't fancy playing on nightmare.

The difficulty levels are clearly a hot topic which in its self should tell anyone outside looking in that theres a problem.

My own experiance with the difficulty settings have been I often find the difference between easy and normal are insane. For example last night I was ambushed on by people after the red headed girl.

On normal no matter how hard I tried no matter what party combinations I used I couldn't do it... Yet when I changed it to easy blimey...talk about easy, my party cut through them like butter. Theres no in between, you have to micromanage like simcity in normal or just hack and slash in easy, there's clearly a lack of balance here as Im finding easy no effort at all and at times normal almost impossible.

Very annoying ambush took me about 5 tries to complete it, found using cone of cold on the sniper eliminated allot of the damage on my group and the rest was rather easy except for the Mage, if I couldn't get someone in close enough I was toast!

Been playing on Normal myself and have found the difficulty about right, maybe a little too easy in some situations and annoying hard in others but I am still learning the tactics and my party.

Second play through will probably give hard a shot.
