I have a feeling these have been posted somewhere already. I searched but these forums are pretty quick moving and very populated so theres a good chance I missed them.

I know theres another screenshot thread, but those pics are smaller and there's only two... I figured some clearer and some newer pics I've never seen before deserve their own thread.

If another thread like this exists, please close this one, and forgive me for wasting space.

Personally three things I notice...
1. Fire effects are awesome
2. Blood effects are awesome
3. The flat desert ground looks absolutly terrible. Like Half-Life... the first one.

Fire effects look great I'll give you that but come on that blood looks terrible, way over the top gloss and again cutting someone with a blade looks like where squishing a ripe tomato. Just far to fake for my liking.

They might not have all been displayed in the same post, but yes they have been posted before.

The two new screenshots are already a huge improvement IMO.

Well... here they are all bunched together with the option of viewing them in BIG. Hopefully that hasn't been done. Personally I don't see them as steller, but seeing them bigger and the Ogre picture clearer really makes them look better then my first impression.

I'm hoping all the screenshots with no helmets means there's a toggle. If they're just having them not wear helmets to show the faces of the characters, it proves my point. We should be able to see our characters' faces but still benefit from wearing a helmet. Or at least make the helmets less ugly.

Image IPBImage IPBAgreed. I always play a mage and never wore head armor because of how ridiculous those atrocities that were mage head armor looked.

Bah I don't get why people are so up in arms. It looks like Dragon Age Origins with the lights on.

Fire looks great honestly but the rest reminds me sooooo much of Dark Sun drawings for the Dark Sun modules and games and novels back in the 1980s

Lol, I dunno, I
guess I'm a fan of over the top violence. But yeah, quite far from
realistic looking, but I think it fits the artistic style.

Worse comes to worse (unless they take out the whole modder friendly aspect) you'll see someone make a mod that adresses this.

Personally I never play the game on the HARDEST difficulty level, so I don't despretly need to wear helmits. Many times I just pick whatever looks cooler and shows off more face.

SIDE NOTE- In the picture with the most darkspawn, you see Hawke sending one flying threw the air with his sword. I mean baseball bat flying. AWESOME.

Yes, fire is OK, but blood seems too thick... Like red sour-cream, or jelly.. And blood is generally absorbed by soil..

Ugh. Let's give the guy Anime hair and angry Biker Nightclub armor and have him jump 10 feet in the air to do stylish action moves?

The fire effects do look really nice. I'm interested to see completed graphics.

But it's Darskpawn blood!  (Yes I know all the blood looks the same in the game, I'm just making a joke)

I don't know if its just the camera being at an odd angle, but Hawke's hand (the one on the sword) looks really weird in this image Image IPB - imgur.com/GSYaP.jpg
But other then that, the fire effect looks alot better then it did in DAO, I just want to see pictures from other environments.

Jump 10 feet in the air... you mean like they did in DA:O as well? I love the fact people are condemning the "ogre leap" when characters in DA:O preformed just as over the top killing animations.

He's wearing his claw. His poster boy look has him wearing armor with a really BA looking claw like metal glove.

If you're wearing a helmet you should be wearing a helmet. I do wish that helmets didn't contribute towards set bonuses, though... so I never felt like I HAD to wear one. ;)

Though I don't begrudge a toggle option for people who really want to wear a helmet without having to see it.

The bigger image of Hawke close up, just shows me clipping with his arm and chest plate.

Ooh, screenshots I haven't seen yet!

Huh, while Hawke's armor is very different looking, the mage there is wearing standard DAO-style mage robes.

If they're keeping the traditional mage robes in Dragon Age 2, I hope they'll be just one of several new options for mage clothing.

The girl is (supposedly) Hawke's sister, they are both from Ferelden. Maybe there are diffrent robes in the Free Marches. I know dumb theory but who cares.

They should be proud that they can create graphics like this here in the year 2010

I HATED it in DAO as well.   I hate God of War combat in "realistic-ish physics" RPGs

The hair doesn't look that way  in any of the other screenshots.  How do you know it isn't physics-reactive and simply sweeping to the side with the air?  Also, emo haircuts are longer and shaggier.  You are really stretching to find something to criticize, I think.
