A feature of ME2 I would like to see in DA2

Yes, that's right. I like those armour sets in ME2 where the helmet stays on all the time.
Specifically, I like them because I'm not fond of ME2 facial animations (Why is Shepard sneering all the time? And I don't think her nose should bend like that.) so the armour sets with unremovable helmets allow me to hide those animations during conversations and cutscenes, thus solving the problem.
I would like, in DA2, to have the option to keep my characters' helmets on all the time. I won't always use the feature, but it's a nice option to have, particularly if there's some sort of significant problem that can be hidden by using it.

Option to have helmets visible in cutscenes. Option to not have helmets visible at all (neither in cutscenes nor exploration).
I know it's not realistic, but if BioWare can't be arsed to make non-fugly helmets, they shouldn't have to rely on the community to make no helmet haks.

I have to say, I blinked a couple times looking from the thread title to thread creator.
DAO had the ability to leave the party's helmets on during conversations, but the way it was designed that was a flag that had to be activated on every single line of dialogue. If it wasn't there, the helmets weren't visible.
Clearly ME2 wasn't designed in this way.

That's just shoddy.

That's right. Bioware is not only capable of creating games that lets you toggle your helmet's appearance on or off, it even did so in the past. You may proceed to find yourself in a general state of shock and awe now.
And really, isn't the toggle the ultimate solution to pretty much any desing conundrum?

This should be nailed to several peoples foreheads!

Toggles do dramatically increase the workload of QA testers. This is why we rarely see them.AntiChri5 wrote...

However, I'd simply prefer an option with "show helmet", "hide helmet" and "hide helmet in cutscene" - to each their own, and nothing to complain about.

I had a couple of these moments in game .. specifically also where one of my shepards met Liara. It just seemed silly to me me that in these cases the helmet were not removed. It just would have made sense in that regards. Anyway after a few of these moments I just never used any of these armours bar the N7 armour with the "head shoot" visor.
The other grip I had with the helmet was thet, in the end it is the only visual creative imput one had in ME2. Now most of the character faces I wasn't alwasy happy about, but when I did make a face that fitted with the image of Shepard that I had in mind, I certainly didn't want that imput I had into the game being obscured by a helmet.
Which kind of was a shame as I would have liked to wear another armour then the N7 at least for some play throughs, but ultimately the "benefits" didn't outweight the "negative imput" these had into my games.
So some toggle ... or some better adjusted automatic toggles for helmet would be nice, aka remove the helmet where it would make sense (e.g. drinking) and leave it otherwise on.

The ability to tint the armour was actually pretty nice. I remember how in ME the Colossus armour looked terrible on my female Shepard because that bright red just didn't suit her colouring. I quite enjoyed being able to change the colour of Shepard's N7 armour in ME2.FDrage wrote...

I would like to clarify something, Sylvius - when you say unremovable, do you mean the DLC armor sets that did not let us remove the helmets (I hated that 'feature') or the fact the helmet would stay as you set it in conversation?
Now what the companions wore... let's not go there.

I still cannot believe that leaving a helmet toggle out of ME2 was intentional.

The DLC armour sets. Since DAO (and presumably DA2) remove helmets for conversations, and I'd like to be able to avoid that (having my helmet flash in and out of existence was a bit jarring). In Exile wrote...

That the helmet stays as you set it was actually unknown to me (I've only just begun ME2). I also can't imagine wanting my helmet to be invisible.

It is a good feature. I always appreciate it when game designers take the time to allow us to use different tints and skins on the armor meshes. To be honest, in both games I ranked looks above use when deciding which armor to wear--the medium Mercenary suited my female renegade perfectly. Also, the armor system in ME2 sidestepped the issue that light and medium armors frankly didn't look as good as the heavy armors.
