I don't remember it ever being mentioned. The Ogres ought to be the same as I doubt that there is a very high population of female Qunari in Ferelden.

Really, I believe only Rivain has the only non-caucasiony humans in Thedas, and they're more mediteranean.

why does everybody say the look of the darkspawn is final?? just because first screens of the game make the darkspawn look a little bad doesn't mean thats how they'll look in the end.
They could change obviously but as I've said before there isn't a whole lot of reason to assume they will. These aren't imcomplete textures here, they're designed on par with that in Origins with just a different style plus I don't see them revealing these new darkspawn in their inital promo only to turn around and do a drastic change later on. I'd say it's safe to assume that this is one aspect of those screenshots that isn't going to change, and that prompted my question.

Those ARE NOT normal darkspawn, they're disciples, which look very different from the normals ones.

I'm curious if places we've been before like Lothering will look drastically different now too- given the new spiky style I wouldn't be too thrilled if already established locations or characters all of a sudden look spiky and drastically different just because of the shift in style.

With the change in art style this is the sort of question I'm curious about. If things like the darkspawn are just going to drastically change visually, is there going to be any in game explanation for the drastically different look or not?

Lothering will have giant neon signs that advertise recent DLC, billboards that advertise coca-cola and such and a tour bus around town. It'll be wonderous.

according to lore the darkspawns differ based on from which origin they come from, as in qunari become ogres
Well that one we're all aware of, I'm more curious if there is a difference between Darkspawn between the various regions as we see with a lot of animals in our world rather the varying origins.

But aren't the deep roads essentially connected throughout Thedas, making it likely that all Darkspawn can travel everywhere?

I doubt it - this seems to be a new style, and it will probably change at least a little from now until release. As said before, people from Rivain have darker skin, and although this might affect hurlocks, which come from human broodmothers, it would not change trolls- so this looks like a new style
