It is illegal to scan and post the images (copyright violation) and we do not support that here or allow links to scanned items. We would also not support websites who do this.

Yeah, we just went through this with another thread. You can't post scans of anything on this forum, it's against the rules and will get you in trouble with the Woo.

Would it be possible for the OP to edit out the link and turn this into a discussion instead?

Aye that would be wise. Before this thread gets closed.

Edit: Personally, I think all of the info was pretty intriguing.

She should, unless she wants to get banned.

Anyway, the articles made me realize something. It seems as if this whole game is essentially our characters telling an old legend. Thus, a voice actually seems to make sense given that in a story, you don't make the hero's intentions mirror your own, but you do get to embellish a little. It kind of reminded me of how we get to make an elven legend when talking to the children in the alienage origin. I must say that this is definitely an interesting direction.

I liked the part where Mike Laidaw said, "I think Dragon Age, if it's about anything, is about human weakness -- the inability to see the larger threat. Honestly, that's where your consequences come from."

I really do hope the Grey Warden screwed over Hawke in DA:2 and Hawke does the same for the next guy in 3.

So the dragon lady is Flemeth. If she is indeed a party member, it'll be interesting to see how Bioware reconcile her presence with the fact that she was available to be killed by the Warden at any point in DA:O.

I really don't know if it is just the background or what, but is anyone else reminded of Dark Sun by the screen shots?

I'm really expecting Andraste to reappear as Mothra and do battle with Flemeth in-game.

An image in the article of Hawke having a conversation of a women really improved my faith in the new art direction. The detail of his face looked very good (a large improvement over DA:O). I think we have to wait to see some more images before we continue to bash the few screen shots we have seen.

Yeah, Hawke and his sister's faces both looked very good in that screenshot. I was impressed with the shot of Flemeth as well.

Also, Hawke's armour looks pretty nice. I hope the mage robes are just as good.

It's the surroundings that need big improvements, not the faces

I agree, the desert doesn't look particularly good. But, I have faith....

David Gaider did say it looks better, so it might be just as good as the faces in terms of detail.

Yeah I agree. That was a huge issue in DA:O. You would be pulled into the narrative but once you look around at the surrounding environment you would be pulled right out of the great story. Hopefully they (DA team) will look at the job the ME team did with ME2 and it's surrounding environments and learn from that.

It looks like lunar landscape, one would think they have not landed yet from ME2

I'm worried about this "stronK narration".

"By having a narrator - having a focus on storytelling that moves me around with a direction and a purpose - I can hear the best parts." ... "Events don't necessarily need to unfold chronologically, and the structure allows the team to skip over uneventful periods of time, keeping the players in action and cutting down on the excess travel time."

"What that actually allows us to do is really focus on the key moments that are occurring  in Dragon Age 2" ... "We can skip the interstitial between the key action moments, the key decision moments, the key universe-shaping moments." .....

Yes, I'm worried it will be a linear game. I hope I'm wrong.

Well, there was a large possibility that she might survive in one form or another, Morrigan said as much.

Sort of sound like Mass Effect 2 meets Assassin's Creed II to me, a combination I can't object to. It doesn't have to be linear, though, as the story telling moments can activate after completing a certain amount of mssion.

If anything, I'm more worried as to why they chose this sort of narrative, seems like the story's headed to that one awesome but inevitable plottwist, which would probably either be like the in The Usual Suspects or the one in Splinter Cell Conviction (the last one, in the ending cinematic).

Aside from that, I hope that this "Consistent Universe" thing turns out to be true in that players that chose a certain ending in Origins that did not involve Awakening will still get to play in 'their' universe.
