I can understand why they took the system out of the game because some people just want to play the game and not have to deal with the whole sorting and stuff.  Thats fine you don't have to. Just leave it alone and you can have the same crapy armor that you had in the first level of the game. But for me I enjoyed being using to customize my weapons to be able knock a geth on their butt in one shot. I loved being able to actually customize my armor. with different upgrades. The system in ME2 is okay  but its nothing compared to the system in ME1. What they should do is combine the systems together so you have a fully customized arms and armor. So you can make your sniper rifle kick ass and take down a target like a sniper rifle is suppose too. Not have to fire six rounds into a target's head and still have them still not drop. I love it that I don't have to drive the mako that sucked. I personally loved being  able to have my armor pimped out where I could run into the heart of the battle and just lay waste to everyone and thing even on the hardest Difficulty. Br the RPG element to the game. There nothing that states that a game can't be a full Action RPG , first person shooter(that be cool)

what do you guys think.??

Congratulations! You're the 1 millionth person to talk about this! Click here for your prize!

No seriously though, lots of people want some kind of inventory back and lots of people think ME2 was fine without it.

I don't want to be able to carry around armor and guns I don't need. I don't care about sorting through them, there's better ways to make money than just giving the players stacks of items to sell, and it's better for realism.

That said, I still want some sort of option in the pause menu to get a general overview of the armor and items I have. I'd like to see some sort of representation of a weapon's abilities that isn't meaningless traditional RPG numbers.

thats why there should be a choice in the game. for the ones who love it dont have to use the system but the ones that loved to do it it should be there. since this is going to be the final ME3 they should really pull out all the stops and try to rival that of Kotor1 the game was released in 2003 and here we are 7 years later and people are still talking about it.

How can you handle an inventory when you can't even handle writing decent paragraphs?

Screw the inventory system, that thing was a pain in the ass. I like the new system where you dont have to sell crap to make a decent amount of credits and you dont become overstocked with multiples of the same item i had a bout 40 extended barrels for one of my riffles i tried selling them but i always ended up with more. personally i thought the whole inventory thing sucked

it wasn't the inventory that sucked.. It was the looting.. Too much of the same crap was found all over the place..

-Bring back an inventory system but as a storage locker in your Captains Quarters

-From there you can customize Armor, Choose which casual clothes you would like to wear and so on

-Add some sort of "workbench" in the armory so you can customize your weapons, choosing attachments like Combat Optics, Extended Barrel, Types of ammo such as tungsten, Sledgehammer, Cryo

-Bring back some sort of economic system where you can sell Iridium, Platinum, Palladium, Eezo that you have left over from Upgrading your ship, these elements should only be used to upgrade your ship, upgrades for weapons and armor should be store bought, or found while looting

-Add a merchant on the Normandy where you can buy Cerberus/Alliance grade material for a discounted price, also being able to buy Power Weapon Ammo would be great..

I'm sure an inventory system would work, just not a start menu system, more along the lines of in-game management.. It would add More depth to the game, actually give the armory a purpose instead of just choosing a load out..

This. The fact people want that horrible thing back in Mass Effect 3 boggles my mind.

How about a system with the comfort of ME2 and the possibilities of ME1? Whats always up with this binary thinking...

No no no no no no.

People didn't like the inventory in ME1, they certainly aren't going to bring it back for ME3.

Watch them can it for Dragon Age 2. Should make lots of ME2 fans happy, at any rate.

A new system is required that allows the action orientated gamers get the easiest upgrades and mods done for them (Auto-Upgrade, like Auto-Level). Then let the OCD players use a loot system and collect up a tactically selected load-out. Also I seriously need an economy again. It feels wrong that it's just an utterly calculated illusion in ME2.

I don't think that's fair because then you're forcing people to go the OCD route to tap into the greater potential of their weapons when they won't like it.  That's pretty much doing ME1.  Please note, what you're saying IS what ME1 technically did.  You didn't HAVE to upgrade your armor or weapons with add-on tech.  But you had to in order to reap the benefits.

That's punishing the not-so-OCD players and only benefiting the OCD players.

All Bioware needed to do was to add an option to CANCEL, i.e., to NOT pick up the loot after you opened the storage container/locker/etc/ Once you've maxed out $$$ and Omni-gel, but still want XP for unlocking loot containers, you can just leave the crap there!!!!

Add the ability to convert multiple items to omni-gel at one time, with a single mouse click.

Organize the inventory by ITEM TYPE, not cost - that was the stupidest thing about the whole inventory system, better yet, provide option to sort by different parameters.

have more expensive upgrades available FOR SALE - every single player ends up max $$$ well before end of game - total waste of time if there's nothing to buy!!! This was a screw up on Bioware's part.

Inventory management is a  part of RPGs, all those simple minded button thumpers should go play Call of Duty or some other FPS, cause that's really what they seem to want - the lowest common denominator of game play

Picking up a Darkspawn weapon and your 15th Lancer VIII are almost on the same level of terribleness.

Has no one here played other games, action and RPG's alike, that have....*gasp*... reasonable inventories?

Its a four letter word around here, like the inventory from ME1 stole their birthday or something. It can be done right, and doesn't have to be excluded from the game. Enough of this damn streamlining.
