I have mixed feelings about this. I understand that a change in appearance is more realistic. But, when I spend the time customizing a character I want them to stay that way. I hope if they go this route you can at least toggle aging on or off in the game options menu.

But don't you think it'd be cool seeing Hawke go from a young man/woman (20ish) at the start of the journey to a much more mature/grown, "scruffier" (as another poster said) hero by the end?

And I mean come on. Nobody keeps the exact same hairstyle/hair length for an entire decade. It'd be wierd if Hawke never changed at all.

Hawke is human, and the game takes place over an entire decade. Does that mean our PC will age and change in appearance over the course of the game? Not many people go ten years without looking any different.

Personally, I think it'd be pretty cool if he did.

I guess it depends on how old he is when the game starts. For example if he is in his early 20s then no I wouldn't expect him show his age by the end of the game.

If they do make Hawke age then they better do the same for the rest of your party. The more details and personality in my party members makes the game feel more realistic.

Aging is mostly a matter of genetics and the way you lead your life:

many folks age rapidly over 10 years and, given a fantasy carpg character,
for many others you can only tell the difference by their additional scars.

Especially when it comes to female chars I'm afraid only few playyers would
be satisfied with the result.

So if it has to be aging, a plain speculation by now, it may be wise to let the
player chose on chargen:

Do I want my character to age: (yes / no)

Possibly. Look at Assassin's Creed 2, that game spanned 14 years I think, and Ezio didn't really change much over that span.

33 years actually.

That's 17 to 40 years old?  Darn.  All we got was a stinkin' goatee. :D

I'd just like hair to grow. It's simple and they could implement a simple "give yoself a damn haircut" option if you want to keep it the default. I want the beard to touch the ground wahahah!

I hope she starts out as a teenager and heads into her mid-late 20s. So yes, I hope we see a physical difference between the beginning of the game and the end.

It seems a granted that female player characters will age less than the male ones.

Since BioWare is obsessive over the details, count on him showing some sorts of age.

Are they still?
