Whatever. Keep it up. I don't have the time to reply to each of you and I think I've said what I wanted to say. Good luck with your gay romances in DA 2. May your dreams come true.

Congratulations, you're just proving that being Greek doesn't make you good at dialectic or rhetoric and that is quite unfortunate, as it would have served you well to actually make a point instead of calling people names.

αντίο:wub:

You have the advantage to talk in a language here, which is not my first language. Do you want to have a discussion in greek? You called my arguments stupid and I called your knowledge about greeks ignorant, so we're even in name calling I think.

Dude, it doesnt matter if you're Greek and you speak Greek. Ancient Greek and modern Greek are entirely different.

That would be like saying "I'm British, so I can totaly understand Beowulf better than you because it was first written in Old English" Apples and oranges my friend, apples and oranges.

So, unless you are willing to claim that you are a scholar who can read/speak ANCIENT Greek EXTENSIVELY, which I am doubting you can, your argument to being able to understand Greek philosophy better than others is invalid.

Let's not go and get all personal now. Debate and discussion can be done in a perfectly civilized manner.

You don't know that in our educational system we have lessons from elementary school till high school about greek history, mythology and ancient greek. I study physical education and sports science in a university (I'm near to take my diploma) and we have classes about ancient greek sports, the olympic games and the philosophy about the athletes of the ancient times. Also I didn't want to say it, but there you go, my father is Spartan, so we have mouth to mouth legends about them. So yeah, I have an opinion and knowledge about my people than your average American, I know I'm weird like that. Sorry.

FYI, I'm French so English is not my first language. Do you want to have a discussion in French? :P

Such arrogance! Don't you think other countries study their history and culture as well? That gives you an advantage, sure, but you missed a point in what Ailith said:

"So, unless you are willing to claim that you are a scholar who can

argument to being able to understand Greek philosophy better than others

You may have schooling, but some of us spend time learning to. You don't know any better than we do just because you're Greek. Someone from Switzerland may understand British or American or Spanish culture better than a native, and that's a fact. You don't automatically win an argument just because you're from that country.

(psssst saibh, he's trolling not joking ;))

Well since this thread will be getting closed soon I'll just go out saying that I do fully believe BioWare can include s/s romances and still appeal to a wide audience.
Cultural norms change and people mature. BioWare should not aim to politicize their work or include anything just for the sake of social commentary, but such an inclusion can be a good way to recognize the entire audience and not just a section of it.

I don't mind if it's hetero only. I have nothing against gays or lesbians but I see no reason why they need to be plastered everywhere. Funny how gays and lesbians (and whatever other minorities) keep screaming how their point of view should always be considered and respected but at the same time they don't ever want to consider neither respect the point of view of others! Double standards all the way.

So, you want to eliminate double standards? Ok. The next time a woman hits on me I'm going to kill her and then claim self defense because I had a moment of hetero-panic. I'm also going to start verbally abusing heterosexual couples I see on the street for holding hands and complain about straight couples flaunting their sexuality while they're out on dates and ask restaurant managers to kick them out.  All in the name of equality, of course.

This is getting old fast. These threads make it seem like the romance (or non-heterosexual romance for that matter) is the one most important part of RPG games.

Anyway, I would like to see some unbiased survey on how people play the game on their first playthrough.

That is certainly cool for you, and I do not deny that you may have heard things we don´t know.

However, this does not mean what we have said is wrong. And your mouth-to-mouth legends, yea...
I´m sure, they are interesting, but legends are (as the word suggests:innocent:) legends and not historically correct.

And it doesn´t matter if your ancestors were Spartan. Humans are defined by their own actions, not by the deeds of people who lived 2500 years ago.

Good to know you realize people can be manly fighters who contribute to the world... *and* gay.
Your ancestors would be proud! :)

I'd like to add that all the "superior knowledge" that Panos has is made moot by the fact that he wrote "gay/pedos" in relation to the Spartans having poster boys.

You can still support gay romances.

They remain important even if we have been talking about other things.
