well youve got a point there... and there propably are a few more intolerant guys out here then you so i propably misjudged you a little indeed.  but still, you propably should sometimes be carefull what youre saying, at least in a thread like this.... i actually can grab the hostility here, take it in a bottle and keep it for the day whenever i meet my worst enemy (whoever that is). giving strange comments or only appearing intolerant can be deadly (metaphoric)....

I really dont see why this is that important in the first place. I am not much of a fan of the idea, of video games turning into the next porn industry. Whats the most important part of the game? The amount of sex you can have or the actually story telling and amount of fun you have until boredom?

First of all because it's reality- people playing a video game are going to turn NPCs into playmates, it's part of the fantasy.  Although the better reason is because it adds depth and drama to the story.  The Dark Ritual is dramatic in itself, but add in the idea of Morrigan or Alistair being your PC's lover and that puts it in a different place.

I thought too much was made of the tent scene in Origins, though obviously a relationship becoming sexual can be a big turning point and was for several of the companions- Alistair's first, Morrigan and Zevran reaching a point where they withdraw, etc.  There are still other things that you could explore that weren't.  For instance, it would have been interesting to have a cutscene break where the LI reacts to the PC being injured.

hey joriandrake did you know that the guys with the most problems with homosexuality are (in many cases) homosexual themselves? reason is, that they think theyre "bad" in the eyes of theyre so called "god" and have the opinion that they had to defeat an "inner demon" of some kind. that makes them think they defeated this "evil" and now they start hating people who dont.

depends on where you live, if you are from China sure, there are lot of people in that nation/culture, but the population of most european nations are dropping already, Malta I think has less than 1 million people, Slovakia and Hungary less than 10 million by now, for these nations having normal relationships and a family to "refill" the numbers equals with the preservence for their culture and nation, and this is a basic instinct for all living things (self/pack preserving)

well, Einstein said he doesn't know what WW3 will be fought with, but WW4 will be fought with sticks, in my own opinion if WW3 is fought it is not sure there will be any humans left to bash eachothers heads in with stones and sticks after it

Nah, it's really about religious indoctrination. Some folks are simply bred to think a certain way.

Ookay. Getting slightly off-topic here. Don't engage, people!

Anyway, back on-topic: I don't rightly know whether or not the romances (if any) will be hetero only. Frankly, we don't even know that there *are* any romances at all, yet. Let's wait for comfirmation that they exist before going into paranoid rantings about the devs leaving out our preferred one.

For me, the quality of a romance is more important than the gender. Sure, I'd prefer to play a guy who can (and does) romance other guys, but it's not all that important to me. In DA:O, I initially thought that I'd romance Zev, but it was the Morrigan romance track that stood out more for me. Sure, Zevran was a poor, tortured soul: afraid to love again out of fear of getting hurt, but Morrigan's conflict between her duty (getting the God-baby) and her feelings for the warden were far too compelling to pass up.

Story will always be more important to me than gameplay and romances. If there *are* romances, and there *is* a same-sex option for a male Hawke, then I'll probably go for it, but only if it's just as interesting as any other option.

As for whether or not Bioware will include it: who knows? If you pressed me, I'd say: there probably will be same-sex male romance. Although at the moment we can't say too much at all. I have faith in Bioware: that they'll cater to as large a portion of the community as they can, but I also trust them to serve the story first and foremost. I'd rather a great story with no romance, than a good story with romance subplots of all descriptions.

Though I'm still waiting for my Oghren romance DLC, damnit!!

well, Einstein said he doesn't know what WW3 will be fought with, but WW4 will be fought with sticks, in my own opinion if WW3 is fought it is not sure there will be any humans left to bash eachothers heads in with stones and sticks after it

 What that got to do with the comparison you made between Homosexuality and WWIII? Are you suggesting WWIII will be fought with homosexuals?

It´s different because religion has caused the world a crapload of trouble (burning witches, crusades, holocaust - and that´s just a few examples); homosexuality hasn´t.

However, I am totally in favour of people believing whatever they want (after all, I used to believe in Santa Claus and the Easter bunny when I was a child:unsure:) as long as they don´t shove it in my (or anyone´s) face.

Hm, if you think about it, there is nothing in the world that did not cause the world a "crapload of trouble" in the past or is likely to cause in the future, Like weapons, marriages (claim to throne/lands), love (war caused by it), move of continents (population resettlement which leds to war with locals), illiteracy (signing stuff you can't read is never good), ect

Well, that´s a bit far-fetched I think. There is enough you can blame the christians for rightfully, we really don´t have to blame them for everything^^.
