I loved the origin artworks for DA:O, I hope they do something similar for DA2 (even though they don't have origins...)

and how come Morrigan didn't have to wear those robes? Just curious.....

Come to think of it...I want to be able to wear plain clothing....people are always supicious of mages... running around in robes with a staff is a dead give away....

I want some dark hooded robes. Not the crappy mage hoods from origins either. I want really cool looking dark robes.

You saw screenshots for yourself, and Bioware had never done anything like this in their previous games, they can't even make longer hair for crying out loud. So I think we can safely assume this is going to be the case with DA2 as well.

I would cry real tears if this was one of the models.

Edit: Tears of happiness. For reals.

The screenshots probably aren't even alpha and were just created so they had something to show, the models lack a lot of polish and work (Except for Hawke, who looks decent)

if they do cloaks or robes that are really large. please bioware... make them move like fabrics.
like if a fireball or blast is cast, it should wip backwards or sway....
from memory, batman-AA's cape is an okay example.(when he walks)

Foul! Foul I say! That's a cleric, not a mage. And as we know, priests in Thedas are rogues. Well...I guess she could be an Imperial Chantry cleric...

Oh, while we're using Pathfinder art:

Morrigan's outfit was by far, about a million times better than any other outfit in the game, it wasn't even close. I'd definitely like to see them take that base, and make some variations of that, and not just for mages but for all classes. Really for the most part the outfits of all the classes were mostly bland/poor, there was almost nothing worth wearing other than for the stats, certainly not for the appearance. A few of the super-duper-heavy outfits were cool looking, at least compared to the other stuff, but really there's SO much room for improvement all they really have to do is try.

I'm with you -- I love that picture. <3

I really hated the mage armor in DA:O... Especially for female character. The actual robes were fine, but the weird knee length skirt thing with thigh high stocking-boots was just... fugly. And the headgear? Ohhhh the headgear.

All the female robes in DAO were ugly, except Morrigan's unique robe. Half of the male robes were ugly, and half were passable but dull. DA2 needs better.

robes are for time of peace , armor is for time of war . High end mage robes should have armor on it , use of armor plates and chain mail is a must for mage involved in war .
