plus everyone who read "the lost/stolen/whatever it is in english throne" doesn't like the orlesians and wont have a problem with killing them or something. a war with another country would require much more "you hate this country because..."
Plus Orlais has shown interest in Free Marches in the past... I
guess the Exalted march can be agaisnt the Mages in Nevarra who have
declared independence from the chantry... Libertarians won I guess...
Bethany could support that as well..This explains why a default Mage
character that is related to you too is in the game...

well it seems like orlais would be in a LOT of trouble soon.... well not a problem with that i already wanted to commit genocide on the orlesian leadership in DA1 and wondered why the population of orlais didn't do that.... viva la revolution or how the frenchmen say^^

I don't know. Orlais is probably one of the more powerful nations in Thedas. It would probably take a lot to have a succesful war against them.

Nevarra has defeated Orlais several times...

Prior to the launch of DAO, David Gaider described the 'old gods' using an analogy of ever widening circles. The old god at the center, and progressively lesser dragons as you move outwards from the center.
What this seems to imply is that the old gods are legendary dragons of exceeding intelligence.
They also were known to have temples built to worship them. This causes me to wonder whether the such worshipers were a Dragon Cult who actually partook of the blood of the old god or merely folk who never actually were able to see the old god
It has never been clear why the devs put the old gods underground. The fact that all seven of then were in the ground at the same time points to their having actually been imprisoned by the Maker, or some such force.
It is not clear why if I understand it right the old gods before their imprisonment could not be seen flying in the sky even though they were fully capable of flying as the corrupted Archdemon has shown

Whoa! I did not know this. Did he say this on the forum or was it live information given somewhere? I would love to know! Thanks!

This leads me to believe that they must have a deeper connection to the Golden City. If they just motivated the Tevinter siege (which might not even have been the case), they shouldn't have been affected by it.

That's my thinking, oddly. High Dragons go on a rampage when they wake up from hibernation. There could be a parallel there.Silentmode wrote...
My theory is that the Old Gods have simply been hibernating this whole time and get really cranky when woken up like in the movie Reign of Fire.

He said it on the forum. This was before the release of DAO. I have personally scoured the forum to see how far back the posts are, and it seems they have deleted everything before the 'social network'
Very sad because there are some real reveals there such as the fact that Morrigan was 'Other' (Yep another David Gaider reveal) Which means Morrigan as well may not be completely human.

Morrigan, I read about then lost the track of the post. I remember Chris revealing that she had yellow eyes due to her unsual parentage..... (Dragon father?)....

I know for a fact that Gaider said pre-Origins release that Morrigan is most definitely human. The yellow eyes are to indicate her unusual parentage- which I'm assuming was referring to Flemeth.
*sigh* It sucks though now as Dragon Age Central is down so its all but impossible to dig up old quotes now:(

ya. She can be human and still have a dragon fatehr. I think of it like this:
Dragon form Flemeth mates with Dragons (male) to get special kid, who is Morrigan. But she gives birth AS a Human.

Sort of how an elf and human equals an elf blooded individual that by all accounts looks human? I guess...but I don't know. I'm wondering if we'll ever learn more about all the mysteries surrounding Morrigan or if we'll constantly be left in the dark...

Well.. I am also guessing.
But unusual parentage does seem to imply more than Flemeth and a random Chasind dude.

Then again though, if Flemeth is truly something more bizarre and more feared than some body snatching abomination like Morrigan implies in Witch Hunt, thats rather unusual parentage, no?

Yup. It still qualifies as Unusual. As I said I was only guessing. Since we are talking of Flemeth, the actual Morrigan Dialogue implies (I think) that Flemeth is No longer human, meaning she once was. What do you think?
"She's not even truly human". - Morrigan.

At the time folks were obsessing over her physical appearance in minute detail...
We all thought Morrigan was a sweet frightened child waiting for the PC to come to the rescue.
How WRONG we were...

Flemeth not being "truly" human could mean a few things. Like she's not human in truth, even though she seems to be. Or that she's part human, part something else, thus not really human but kind of. Or, as you said, she used to be human, but isn't truly anymore.
