 How about this for totally baseless speculation:

Flemeth is old, right? Maybe in the past she performed the Dark Ritual in a past blight keeping the Warden's survival secret and somehow using that Old God's soul to take for her own in some way. So basically she is some sort of Old God abomination but essentially preserving the Old God.

Maybe then, she wanted Morrigan to do the same with Urthemiel- get the Old God Baby and use it to basically become another Old God abomination herself? Or maybe Morrigan does the DR but does not want to carry it through as Flemeth intended for her?

It just seems clear that there is indeed some kind of connection between Morrigan, Flemeth, the Old Gods, and blood magic. I really hope DA2 or another expansion pack to Origins explores more of Morrigan/Flemeth's story as IMO, its the single most interesting plot line in the DA universe right now.

to point out, 6 and 8 are only in their Archedemon form, it would be prudent to point out that flemeth shares more with the archdemons than the old gods, since the old gods only get their darkspawn controlling powers from the taint.



sidenote: the darkspawn likely only seek the archdemons out because the first darkspawn were the magisters of the TI, which explains why they actually seek them out since they want their old gods aback.

Yeah, Morrigan said that it was a possebility she changed forms to lure men into her bed, or she just raped the crap out of them I dunno.
But if she realy was the way Lelilane and Morrigan described her in story's (raven black hair, pale skin) I guess she looks for vessels just like that, I mean look at Morrigan.

If we're lucky, they will be before or after the final confrontation in DAX, which will no doubt take place in the Black City itself. X of course depending on how long they'll make the series.

I do believe that Morrigan also states that as a child, she remembers Flemeth being beautiful with dark hair much like her own.This would imply that Flemeth aged faster than would be expected.

My one fear with DA is that all of these intriguing questions never get any resolution and the whole affair just devolves into a situation like LOST.

Not necceseraly did she mention how young she was?
Flemeth could have been in her late 40's or something by then.

no one really knows, but from the sound of it, it might have been shortly after the end of the last blight, since a blight wasnt mentioned in their story. so anywhere from a century or 3. >>
