I could upload it somewhere, but some modders are crazy and I don't know if that applies to this modder, so I'd rather not.

If I stumble across an alternate link or find a way to get you what you need, I will definitely let you know.

Or didn't I understand the question and does that polisch mod do something else than change the resolution so you'll have a widescreen GUI?
Bigg gives even personal support for his mod, there's a forum about it for all kinds of question. Only problem I can think of, the clock often won't display properly: you see the mechanism ticking away in a quadrant, but not the whole clock.

Why not just this one from Gibberlings3 instead of a mod from an obscure polish site: www.gibberlings3.net/widescreen/ It's the best choice for most Infinity Engine Games. Read the readme first though, to see if you're version of the game is supported.

If you pay attention, the topic is about the GUI fix for the widescreen mod, it means to be installed after the G3 wide screen mod because in BG1 it looks very bad in widescreen, with off-centered windows and black areas. The polish mod greatly improves the wide screen mod by centering some of the windows and removes the black areas in the gameplay window. There are some few issues remaining, like loading windows still not centered, and scroll arrows a bit off, but nothing bad.
Also, the installer is in English, once you manage to download it.
I have modified the background image for my personal use, maybe Zed will include it in a future version of the patch.

Inside your Baldur's Gate folder you should have a TWM_GUI\\97WS-GUI folder. Copy the downloaded file inside that folder and extract, overwritting the existing files. Then reinstall with Setup-TWM_GUI.

Another question: the game keeps crashing while entering an area with the mod (like a house). It doesn't happen with only Widescreen Mod. What's causing it you think?
most CTD (crash to desktops) that happen when you enter an area are due to either the area file being corrupted or a creature file that spawns in that area getting corrupted. If you open a separate thread in the tech support forum and list specifically which area you're entering when it happens along with which mods you've got, you'll have a better chance of someone helping you identify the issue.
