Hopefully the toolset will be as easy to use as the Aurora toolset.

It still stands to reason that putting in a artificial limitation into a game will be detrimental for moding efforts.
Many of the NPC in the game have more then 6 Initial dialogue options and the cohorts start out with around 5-6 all of them.
So let's say i want to add a quest, flirt pack, extra dialogue and you name it.
Now Let's say we start adding mod's to the game that add's dialogue options into the game or might even restore cut dialogue (very common) we run the risk of running out of space becaus there only is 6 options compared to say unlimited.
Even if every NPC in DA only have 4 OPTIONS then you still run the issue of cross mod problems becaus of the limited space on the wheel that will be harder to fix becaus of how the wheel works compared to the more traditional way of picking dialogue.

meh
I was all excited that they released a toolset for DA:O because I looked forward to the community-created content... only to find out that when I'd go looking for mods, there would only be like 5 actually useful mods, and then there would be 500 different uploads of Leliana and Morrigan with different hair and eye colors.

Kinda wonders how limited the human mind can remain...
and yes, if I could get it installed I'd gladly bunch in <_<

I certainly hope that they have a toolset. I would not have done as many playthroughs as I have without my mods. There are a ton of useful ones available beyond morphs. In fact, I'm not sure how anyone plays a vanilla game over and over.

*chuckles* Mass Effect had a toolset. It just wasn't released publicly.
The fact of the matter is that every game has one. Adding the dialog wheel dialog to a game in the toolset wouldn't be more difficult than otherwise, just different. Even WOW has a toolset (complete with push pull terrain and everything from what little has been shown of it).
The question comes, will they put the time and effort into making the toolset home builder friendly, or only usable at a developer skill level, and will they release it publicly. *shrugs* I don't know if they will. NWN was fantastic for it. I've not done any modding in DA though but it was more powerful.
Good Gaming

*wants toolset*
Well, since the current toolset has been a success, as well as provide people with machinima producing power, it wouldn't be smart of them not to continue with their more advanced technology of DA2. After all, how will fans/producers create new and original DA/non DA content?(i.e. marketing exposure to a larger audience to say the least) After all, toolset users/addicts **must** purchase ($$) the game..hint....hint..(ok so we're a small bunch but still...we can make fun stuff for the big bunch)
and of course not to mention the Modding power causing fans to want to replay and try new stuff...but that's a given.
I could give all sorts of reasons/excuses for my wanting them to update the toolset..but in all honesty, I just want it.
