to the pc."

Seems i was right consolized as you can see even say it's better to port from console to pc which is what will happen this time.

I think Bioware are getting abit up themselves. These screenshots could
easily be mistaken for lord of the rings, on a Playstation 2. It looks
worse than Dragon Age. They have also alienated there core audience for
the sake of extra dollars, so much for "integrity" eh Greg? Keep them
console users 'appy.

Play as Shepard, use
Toy's R Us icons instead of actually having to read like an old school
RPG. Cinematic approach, like Mass Effect. It's a console game. A
rushed one, that looks like a last gen console game.

"Spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate!" "A return to Biowares roots!"

Really Bioware? Really? No.

Try reading the rest of the article, in particular the part about 'Two Dragon Ages.'

I'm a PC gamer too, but I'm starting to feel embarassed to call myself one with all the ridiculously hyperbolic language being thrown about.

So?  There is nothing inherently "console" about those features.  How do they indicate the game is being "consolized"?

To be honest, I never heard anyone stating that about DA2, just DA:O...

Do we really need two topics about the exact same thing ?

...I mean, sure, I also got my complaints. I certainly don't like some things they changed...but good god this hypersensitive doom & gloom whining really is getting to me.

Since voice acting is still relatively new to video games i wonder if people complained about actors speaking at the end of the silent film age.

Console gamers are so blatantly ignorant. They're always tossing around blanket generalizations about things they don't understand. /sarcasm.

Instead of showing full text it just sumary that illiterate console users need.

I know plenty of literate console users.  A friend of mine played the Xbox360 version of DAO before later getting the PC version.  He has a degree in English so I'm fairly sure he is literate.

Furthermore, if the console users were literate enough to play DAO, why would their literacy suddenly be in doubt?  Could you clarify your argument?

Again, KOTOR started life as a console exclusive, and then got enhanced and shaped into a great PC game, I have no concerns with this game.

If he has a degree in English chances are he has a pc. Or played
Baldur's Gate.
Which requires a pc.

Speaking as a PC gamer, I still say that's flawed logic. The summary is to avoid redundancy with the voiced dialogue. Nobody wants to read their whole responses then hear them spoken afterwards, every time. It's just irritating.

What a strange point. I have a PC, I've played Baldur's Gate.

Now I prefer to play on PS3 because I'm tired of dealing with any kind of PC bugs, glitches and updates.

Well, I was ok with that in Witcher. Game bored me later on, due to P.O.S. combat so I've never finished it, but I was ok with that redundancy you've mentioned.

Yet nowadays console games have bugs, patches and updates, just like PC games. The only difference is that they make it so you can't play the game at all unless you upgrade, and then their upgrades sometimes brick your console.

And that's why games are dumbed down. They are catering to you, the ones who don't want to bother doing anything. Why didn't you just buy a wii? At least that way, you wouldn't be ruining  pc games. :kissing:

Exactly.  My friend does have a PC, and did play BG.  He eventually got the PC version of DAO and thought it was a lot better, because the X360 one felt like a port by comparison.  But he is still a console gamer, and even though I prefer PC and want that version to be the best it can be, I don't see why trying to make the console versions better too is a bad thing.

Choosing a different platform calls for "dumbed down"?

Huh?  How does that make sense to you?

What is it with this PC elitism? Even when Bioware says they will develope the game simultaneously for consoles and that the combat will remain mostly unchanged for PC the forum fills with complaints about how Bioware is catering to the consoles.

Though what really gets me is that they seem to see themselves as some kind of discriminated against minority while most of them want Bioware to cater to them.

Well...interestingly enough even Project Red (devs of the Witcher) didn't think that the "read everything you're going to say later" approach worked.

They are adopting a ME-style dialogue wheel approach for the (for now) pc-exclusiv The Witcher 2.
