Yeah.. for a game that has the mind to include "Dragon Age" in it's title, you would think that there would be more than a grand total of TWO high-dragon encounters in the game, and a smattering of drake/dragon encounters.  I like variety in enemy types as much as the next gamer, but I really think that a game focused around an age named after Dragons would have more quests/storylines/enemies that relate to that concept, don't you?

So, for me, I would like Dragon Age 2 to include more dragon-themed enemies; even better if new types of dragons were introduced. (In origins, the dragon subtype of enemy only had a couple of iterations - dragonling, drake, dragon, and high-dragon)

Personally, I think it would be great if they decided to make dragons elementally bound, such as earth-wyrms, sea-dragons, and so on.

Thoughts? ^^

I disagree personally.

I don't want dragons to be too commonplace. The Dragon Age was named as such because the dragon sighting was such a portentious event. And I like full scale dragons to be somewhat climatic encounters. I would personally be disappointed if they made them more common or too out in the open.

I mostly agree with Lord_Saulot, but I'd love to see Dragonbeard. Just to signify the importance of Beards in Dragon Age.

Halflife is good and better than any bioware game. They should steal enemy's from that and re-skin them.

1. Headcrabs
2. Gaint blind tentacle that can only hear sound
3. Marines (replace with Knights or something) who fight you as well as Darkspawn
4.Those guys who shoot bee's than can go round walls (reskin as some kind of super darkspawn)
5. Replace Helicopter with Dragon

Dark Spawn very redundant. Nothing wrong with stealing, Valve stole half there crap and the enemy's are great.

Dragon are powerful yet very uncommon creature, let's keep it that way. But I'm quite sure There will be a High Dragon attacking the Free Marches and You must kill it!

I don't think there should be more dragons, but more bosses who are massively big like dragons. It makes the battles more epic.

Of course, what i am suggesting does not mean that the importance of such encounters must be marginalized. They could still make encountering such fearsome beasts monumental occasions, but at the same time add more -variety- to those encounters.

I agree, dragons should be very rare. I say we should only have 1 dragon boss battle through the entire game. And it should be extremely hard to beat.

In the previous Age, Dragons were believed to be extinct.  Then, a few (very few) were discovered, so they decided to call it the Dragon Age instead of what it was previously going to be called.  Dragons are still extremely rare; the Warden is lucky to have even seen one in his lifetime.

Actually, dragons are nearly extinct according the GI timelime.

8:99 Blessed Age: Dragons were thought to have been made extinct by the infamous dragon hunters of Nevarra almost three centuries before, but a High Dragon is spotted on a feeding rampage over the Frostback Mountains. Even though scholars claimed it a terrible omen, the Chantry declared it to be a sign of the Orlesian Empire’s glory and named the next century the Dragon Age. The rebels of Ferelden, however, saw it as a sign of their nation’s rebirth and successfully threw the Orlesians out three years later.

So the dragon age was named after the sight of the high dragon over the Frostback Mountains, not because of the crazy amount of dragons flying around

I disagree with the OP. Less dragons makes them more special. Coming across a Dragon should be an extremely rare, life-changing experience.

Hmm, let's see.

Mages' tower: Drakes and dragonlings running loose. Sword enchanted to slay dragons.
Orzammar: Dragon hidden in the throne room.
Brecilian Forest: Dragon in the werewolves lair.
Flemeth's Hut: Flemeth turns into a high dragon.
World Map: Random encounter with drakes.
World Map (Awakening): Random encounter with drakes, dragonlings, dragon, dragon-slaying sword.
Silver Mine (Awakening): Dragonlings, drakes, darkspawn dragon tamer, dragon thralls.
Fort Dracon: Dragon thrall camped out in front during the final section of the game, not to mention that the Archdemon itself is basically a big corrupted high dragon.
Temple of Andraste: Dragonlings and drakes running around everywhere, plus dragon-worshipping dragon cultists who worship a high dragon.

And there's probably some I missed.

[edit] Oh, right...

Blackmarsh: Giant ghostly dragon.
Drakes' Fall: Secret dragon graveyard full of dead dragons plut a living high dragon that randomly arrives to attack you.

And there's probably still some I missed.[/edit]

Yeah, I don't get it when people complain about a "lack" of dragons in Dragon Age. What more do you want, dragon-breathing dragons who breath out more dragons instead of fire?

I think most people are complaining about the lack of High Dragons. I never considered Drakes and Dragonlings to be REAL dragons, but that's just me and my picky taste Image IPB

I hope we have different enemies in DA2, dragon fights were boring for me.
