I want a giant spider as a companion in DA2
How about a naked bald man instead?

Heck, I'd rather have flaming pandas dual-wielding kittens than those spiders.
That cries for a fanart!

I dont know about the naked bald men. I would rather have a big giant hairy spider come running at me then a naked bald man.Neveri wrote...
I absolutely detest spiders. My first character was a mage as well, and I ended up doing that infested cave quest, and that was the first and only time I did that. Jowan might be a friend, but we're not *that* good friends. I always leave the Deep Roads until last, that place is horrid enough as it is, but with the spiders? Do not want. I'd rather have the naked, bald men swarm me then, honestly. Heck, I'd rather have flaming pandas dual-wielding kittens than those spiders. I don't dislike kittens or pandas, but I'm fairly certain I'd hate having to kill them.

Oh I hated that battle. She kept webbing my whole party just to move to the other side of the cave then Id finally get over there hit her a couple times and she would do it again. She even kept getting Wynne no matter how far back I made her go from the party she still kept getting hit.ForTheWynne wrote...

I have arachnophobia. So all the spiders in my game are modded to look like "bears". Which brings me to the toolset concern. Hopefully there will be some flexibility in modding, as I don't relish having panic attacks every time those unnatural bastards come on screen (assuming that there will still be giant spiders).
You had flying bears on strings drop down behind you!? I want that game.

Seriously, outside of Gax and the Dragons, Spider Queen might've been the battle I've had the most difficulty with. I always just get too excited and get my Mage too close to the fray

Do the bears shoot webbing at you?

Generally, I found the giant spiders of DAO creepifying. The last time I tested a plot in DA2, I wound up in battle against dozens upon dozens of identical, naked bald men named "Poison Spider." I think that was worse. Much worse.
See? You already know what people would like to see instead of giant spiders!

You can find the mod on this site. The bears couldn't hang from the webs though.

No, they try to, you can see them initiate the action "web", but nothing comes out. Its like they're puking air. Which is cute. They do make spider sounds though.

1. They are usually hard to fight, and they come in numbers. So it's challenging. That's a good thing.
2. People are scared of Spiders because they look scary in figure, so it's scary. That's a good thing.
3. Spiders in real life are everywhere. In fantasy they are just bigger, and that's realistic. That's a good thing.

Anyhow spiders were usually annoying enemies. I remember these guys from Doom 3.

LOL I'm positive there were no spiders in both Mass Effects OP.
But yeah I agree, almost EVERY RPG I've stumbled across has giant spiders. Which I hate. I really, really, hate spiders.
ME2 had Praetorians. As in Giant Frikin Spiders made of PEOPLE that fired LASERS out of it eyes. If you dont think they looked like spiders, then play the level were you control Joker and watch the one that comes out of the elevators, very spider-like to me!
ME1 also had the Rachni, not exactly spiders, but close enough.
I also have a huge fear of Spiders, each time one jumped down from above I had a mini heart attack and either jumped in my chair or screamed, or both.

That's what this thread's here for! Hell, when the Mother went all Predator with the gaping jaws at the end of Awakening I wasn't afraid, but drop one spider and my big-ass armed-to-the-teeth warrior Warden runs away crying like a little girl
