Her loyalty power turns Harbinger off. It is glitched so when he is hit with it then it takes like two minutes for him to use his powers again.

Well, IMO ... you get one of the best loyalty missions in the game... another Zaeed type character, which I happen to like. The ability for a class like soldier or engineer to learn flashbang for CC. You also get the best SMG in the game IMO.

She is great character and great for combat but on Insanity I don't recommend her using her since she drops like a brick pretty fast like most squad mates.

I just finished an Insanity run through using her for 90% of the missions.

Shadow strike:
It does damage against everything (health, shields, barrier, armor)
Is a tech power, which means it benefits from tech upgrades.
Is also a defensive move. She heals while cloaked. I saved her many times by sending her to do some damage. That's also good for Shepard, 'cause your enemies shot at her, but she takes no damage during that time.

Flahsbang granades:
They're a great for CC. Many say overpowered.
On Harbinger, there's a glitch. He stops attacking until either he's killed or a really long time passes.

The Locust SMG:
For a 'caster' class, it really makes easy taking the sniper rifle as bonus weapon instead of the assault rifle (it's very accurate at mid-range).

One more tech upgrade in his loyalty mission
That means you'll be able to get 3 upgrades (which unlocks tech cooldowns) at a very early stage of your playthrough: Mordin (to unlock the lab on the Normandy), Garrus, a little visit to Citadel and Kasumi.  That's it. Otherwise, without Kasumi DLC, you'll get the 3rd tech upgrade on the Disable collector ship.
If you like playing Engineer, Infiltrator or Sentinel, this is a great advantage, specially on a NG+

You also get an additional Tech Upgrade during her Loyalty Mission and there are quite a few additional Credits, Medi-gels, and some Heavy Weapons ammo.  Plus, her LM is a lot of fun even without all the extras.

I've found Shadow Strike useful not only for its attack, but because it distracts the nearby enemies attention away from Shepard for a few seconds leaving you time to advance/retreat/heal.  Also, if you evolve it to Rapid SS (level 4) it has an 80% faster cooldown if Kasumi gets a kill with it.

I've almost never seen SS not kill something so next time through for me, I might just move her over into Rapid instead of Deadly since SS will kill almost anything in Casual or Normal at the very least and kill almost everything in Hardcore.

I haven't tried SS on Casual or Normal, but I imagine Rapid would give one hit kills on those difficulties.  Even if Kasumi doesn't get the kill the cooldowns and incapcitation durations are the same, though dealing less damage with Rapid SS, so you don't really lose a lot.  I try to make sure I use it against enemies with only health to get the 80% cooldown benefit, and even then it sometimes leaves them with a sliver of health (on hardcore).

I have been getting instant kills with level 3 and level 4 so there is pretty much no way that Rapid cant kill something unless its build like an Ymir

Kasumi is easily a borderline god tier character compared to everyone else except for Miranda.

So long as you keep your squadmates 'use powers automatically' option off, she's fine. Personally I thought shadow strike was a load of turds, it seemed to be like a kamikaze button that made Kasumi stride out into the open, decloak, and get shot to death.

On the plus side, she packs both Flashbangs and Overloads, making her possibly the best disruption character in the game.

I agree. Deadly Strike is useless compared to her other skills, it takes way too long for her to get to the target, hit it and get back. Overload is decent skill, but Flashbang is by far the most powerful skill she has, it can completly turn off Harbinger.

Insanity has become rather easy with the release of all the DLC. The Incisor is basically a kill-stealer in the hands of your squaddies (Zaeed, Garrus, & Thane). The DLC armor is super powered, and the addition of Kasumi and her invisible/invincible power is amazing. Makes playing through as a soldier feel like Normal on Insanity. Going straight into Insanity on NG+ after this playthrough (still have IFF and endgame). Playing through as an Infiltrator on Insanity felt somewhat challenging, but became quite easy after the collector ship (especially after acquiring Kasumi).

Indeed. I'm not really that bothered, though - she has far and away enough skill points to max out Overload and Flashbang, and that's all i really care about :P

I play Soldier, but that's a very good point.

I'm going to have to disagree with those who think Shadow Strike is useless, but it is a pain because it requires some micromanagement. To wit:

I order a strike, wait to here the heavy 'WHUMP"  of the strike being made, then click on the spot I want her to return to, behind cover. Otherwise, she tends to wander off and get shot.

I also, before the attack, weaken opponents with shield drain or warp or whatever and pick Rapid Shadow Strike for the final upgrade. If you do that, she can wipe out a whole room of opponents in relatively little time while you stay crouched behind cover. It's a cheap trick but it works.

The biggest advantage of Flashbang — besides the fact that it works against everything — is the rapid recharge rate.
