My gosh this is something that must be told, because in all the game. I thought I should have had a chance with my sweet evil theiving Neeksha. I mean she was just this funny joke telling little lady with horns. Dang obsidian for avoiding Romances, but I was glad at the end of the game I convinced her to stay on my side, but this thread isn't about me its about everyone who played the game so what romances did you wish you could have had? This inlcudes all expansions!

Neeshka wasn't evil, she was a neutral Tiefling rogue.
And as i remember, she was supposed to be a romance option for male characters, but it was cut due to lack of time.
Too bad, she charmed me from the first minute :)
Soo cute!

Neeshka would be awesome, I wonder what it would look like if they still allowed it, I guess we'll never really know now.

Shandra is another option though .

If I had a lot of time I would, but things be happening.

But for now if someone would like to try out this mod and let me know if it works please do. I was thinking about downloading it. Just because I want a Neeksha Romance. I think shes one of the best NWN2 characters ever created and to me shes my sweet evil thiefling. HMMM. Anyway, heres the link.
This first link tells you how to download it and whats on the package:
http://www.gibberlin...me-nwn2rom.html

This second link is the actual download:
http://www.gibberlings3.net/nwn2/

This is a mod package for Romances. I have no idea if it works. Posted Image

I would have liked a same-sex romance with Safiya. I was totally satisfied being her friend, but found her interesting enough to dig the idea of a proper romance. I don't mean like what male characters had with her either. Of course, romances are one of NWN2's weak points.

I also would have found a Bevil romance interesting. The man was a bit of a coward but I liked how could change his life and help him grow into a competent soldier. It would have been interesting to play that out in drawn out fashion. I usually don't go for that type of character in these games, but something about Bevil made me like him.

Neeshka (though for me that's stating the obvious)

Qara? Wasn't she you know under age? It's not stated in game but I was under the impression that Qara was about 16. ::shrug::

Not a great fan of romance since they can be clumsy and unfufilling if done badly but if there were one to follow I like Qara too. That would have been interesting to write/read, not a girl to woo without some fireworks I think Posted Image. As to age, even if she were 16, your starting age is not so far from that and in the society I imagine this to be, it is only her social standing as a spell caster that prevents her from being married off and perhaps having children of her own. Were it Roman this would be true I think or simlarly for Mediaeval and dark ages settings.

Fifteen is the age of majority in most civilized areas from as far south as Tethyr to further north than where Neverwinter is located. That makes Qara legal by most Faerûnian standards. There is also no special social stigma about being a wizard or sorcerer. Someone like Qara would only be near impossible to marry off because she's a destructive loon. Commoners may never feel wholly at ease around them, but those mages who earn respect are in turn trusted and respected. There are a few beloved mages in that region of Faerûn during the time NWN2 takes place.

That written, Qara would make for an explosive romance... literally I expect. :?

Well that's something I didn't know. But you're right, who in their right mind would want to marry Qara. Even if she weren't a little pyro, you'd have to be very thick skined to put up with her attitude.

Think I'm better off with Neeshka ;)

Those your also getting your self into a hand ful with Neeshka. Heres the reasons. She does like to steal. This could be a problem especially if your in traveling in a place where there would be lots of merchants. Plus Neeshka also had more story in her background the game didn't fully cover which I though was pretty interesting and would have loved to learn more about.  Also shes a thiefling. Now this is the part I always found adorable about her. Its because of her (will call it handicap of social order and birth which makes her even more intriguing.) I mean how many people in NW do you see walking around with a Theifling wife or GF?

Now as for Qara, Lets just say this. Hopefully your character would have a water spell Or atleast something to get water. BEcause when it comes to explosion. You aint' lie!Posted Image

Heh what can I say there's something to be said for the girl with horns and a tail Posted Image

I think think that's part of Neeshka's charme, is that she's a thief and likes to nick things so it makes life interesting. I always let her have the run of the whearehouse Posted Image And as you say there's quite a bit of her backstory that went begging. I've having fun trying to fill in the blanks.

We know that Neeshka was raised by Helmites before she ran away. (she tells you this) It's also strongly hited at that Mpheasime is Neeshka's granddad but sadly that plot arc never gets resloved. I'm sure there was meant to be a quest chain involving that.

The teifling has me under her spell and I don't mind one bit Posted Image Posted Image

I imagine she'd pretty much be the dream woman of a chaotic aligned character.

Heh, maybe if they were CN or CE, my CG chars on the other hand back away very slowly....

There's being chaotic and then there's being dumb.

And I still say Qara's alignment is off, when you talk to her she cames across as being far more CE than CN. But I suppose that's a matter of personal interpreation of the alignment system.

Some of the other party NPC's are the same, their given alignments don't quite match how thay act in game. But that's another thread.

If anyone wants romances, I definitely have to say that the Gibberlings mod, the newest version (bug fixes and whatnot) on their website, not on the nwn2 ign vault (old version), is the way to go. It's pretty good in my opinion. What I don't get is why obsidian bothered to do away with romances all together. Us girl gamers SAWOONED over Aarin Gend and his silly locket in NWN1. I was all, "Oooh you sexy spymaster from Chult come 'er and do teh dirty." I really like the gibberlings mod because it offers romances for Casavir and Bishop, which I totally wanted both. My beautiful yuan-ti didn't get it on with anybody. Wah! Safiya would've been totally cool too. And for the many Neeshka worshipers here, the gibberlings mod even has a cute cutscene specifically for her romance bit.

Got to love the doubles. Anyway, I hope this mod is cool. I've never used a mod before so I think this would be worth a try for one. Posted Image

It's no secret that OEI (some of the writers at least) are not the biggest fans of romances generally speaking. At least not in the classic Bioware sense of the word which is unfortunate for OEI since their two first games were Bioware sequels.. I think it was Chris Avellone who said that he can't write a romance unless it ends in tragedy, haha.

I'm personally not a fan of game romances generally speaking, I would've rather had that effort put into other things.

That said, I think they did pretty good on having more "down to earth" romances (romantic encounters would probably be a better word) in Alpha Protocol. No flowery declarations of love, which is what I tend to dislike about many other romances.

If folks are gearing to try Neeshka's romance, I'd beg you to wait a littl' bit longer till I can get the full version in. I am hoping to be done ASAP, which in my turtle pace means a few months, but with the purchase of the laptop, maybe I shall sky-rocket. It is turning out pretty good, if I say so myself. Better than I expected. :)
