What romances did you wish you had in NWN2?

It works.
And Neeshka's romance scene is fully voiced
Which makes me think that they cut it at literally the last moment.
So now you know.
And I loves me some Neeshka!

that and when you do the 'flirt' options the gestures remind me of the sims and it looks weird....though there are some really cute flirt options.
i think bishop was fleshed out a lot more than casavir, or at least his stuff wasn't cut like casavir's, so i wonder why casavir is the official romance and not bishop???

I'd like the romance options to be somewhat sensitive to race choice. Even if some of the romance possibilities end up being shallow it would greatly increase replayability.

Grobnar and Khelgar should be romance options. Weird that humans are the only options for female characters. And I found it strange that Elanee was so taken with my shield dwarf.

Grobnar!?
Ew!
Sand would make a better choice that those two, and Khelgar is like...48 or something. I mean it would be a cute option for the guys, but the male NPCs that you have hanging around...well I think they stuck to Bishop and Casavir for a reason - and Casavir's eyebrows already bother me a bit.
I think Nevalle had a bit of a following over at FF.net, but other than that, they really just aren't any good looking or interesting NPCs for the females to swoon over.

Neeshka's romance scene was written and voiced for the pack. So, Obsidian had no hand in making it.
BTW, I don't think Qara is all that young. She is immature, but she is on her own, and she is a student in an Academy, not a high school. She also sounds like she's been there long enough to make friends, enemies, learn to set barns on fire to disrupt guards, and in general attract attention. And drop out. Sort of. Plus, immaturity is the most noticeable when it's not age appropriate.

About Casavir's eyebrows... is anything we can do for changing his face? At deviantart I've seen a real well done portrait... maybe we could change definitively his face in order to have a better looking paladin!
(my heart is already with Bishop, so this is just for discussion sake

By the way, here's the link to the Casavir's portrait I was referring to in my previous post... yes, it has nothing to do with Casavir, but at least is handsome

As for the other girls:
Neeshka would definitely have pursued her over Elanee. I liked her attitude and personality over all but would definitely have set some ground rules before having a relationship or having her in the party: Don't steal from the party's loot (Remembering scene at Warehouse in Act 2), I don't mind if you steal but tell me & others first before committing crimes so we can add input and be prepered if things go south.
Shandra: To be honest I saw her as a Sister type. I would not pursue a Long-term relationship with her as she would return to the Farm after the adventure was over or at least not want to go on a long term adventuring career with me. Short term relationship would be nice but she didn't strike me as the type to go for that either.
Elanee: To be honest while I didn't hate her, she was just too good for any of the characters I normally role-play.
Didn't play as a female character although I will say that I just never understood Bishop's appeal and still don't.

About the girls in the game... Ok, I am a straight girl, so I am not able to understand the male point of view, but from the "friendship" point of view...
Elanee is SO boring... I would have killed her, if my PC would have not been CG! She's only able to speak about that stupid swamp and she is so "perfectly good" that's almost pathetic!
Neeshka is totally crazy, but I like her, she's nice, witty and a bit irresponsible! I like her!
Shandra... well, several time in the game (not finished yet due to computer problems, I have to change a piece) I thought she was lesbian and that she was trying to flirt with my PC o_O so it is a bit disturbing!
Qara is... psychotic? Thought her personality has not been deepened enough for me to give an opinion. [but the scene in the Flagon, where Qara, Neeshka and Kelgar are quarreling about how to offend each other, is fantastic!!!]

With her dies a really nice person.
Neeshka is nice as well, but she appears to be a little too young, which might be the reason Obsidian decided to cut her romance.
For a female PC, I would prefer Sand over Casavir. Nothing against mr. Righteous (he is ok, for a Paladin), but Sand is simply better written and thus has much more personality.

Each time he opens his mouth, I have to resist the impulse to kill him! He is so self centered! Moreover, he seems to me like an old man, someone passed his 60, that has the urgency to make everyone aware that he is right and he is the best on everything because elderly has made him wiser...
I simply cannot see Sand as someone that can be thought as a possible romance by a girl. Casavir is ok in that point of view (even if I don't like him) but Sand...

2)It's simply a shield. Sand is haunted by his past (Hosttower and all that) and needs something to block everything that could hurt him. So he attacks everyone with his sarcasm, making it more likely he hurts, instead of getting hurt. Only my interpretation though.
I think it might be worthwhile. You know, healing him from the wounds of his past and so on.
Never said it would be an easy romance. Kinda like Jack from ME2.

I am not saying that we, women, usually don't have this bad idea of saving a man from his own past and curing his wounds, but I'd far prefer taking care of Bishop, than of Sand...

BTW I've made once dumb comic about NWN2 romances.
(I've stated that Neeshka and Qara are teens only for comical purpose. There's no way they're so young)

I'd take Bishop over Sand (or anyone else) in a heartbeat. You kind of have to kiss up to Sand to get affinity points (not always but usually), wereas with Bishop, I usually just say whatever I want and still get affinity points.
Something I like of Bishop (or better, the thing I love of Bishop) is that he simply says what he thinks without hypocrisy. And he is able to give somebody as good as he gets. Also in real life I like people able to argue with me with wit and sarcasm. While I tend to skip people who just need to be flattered!

same, and it was refreshing some of his viewpoints too, even though i know people will disagree. like when you go off to rescue shandra and casavir is promising to bring her back, safe, sound and unharmed, Bishop had a point - she could easily already be dead so no point in making that promise.Vaalyah wrote...

Being Casavir and Elanee the only official romance I always ask myself "why they're so ugly???"

Or isn't this his 'excuse'? That the PCs cause is hopeless, and he rather joins the winning team?
Yeah, surely an adorable person.
For me that, and his absolute carelessness for other living beings, are much severe character flaws, than Sands (admittedly) bloated ego.
For an evil PC he might fit as a romance option though.

The problem with Bishop is, well, he is an heartless bastard and a coward. No matter how well you treat him, or how much you agree with him, in the end he will betray the PC. And for nothing but, or so he thinks is, his own safety.

Yeah, surely an adorable person.
Bishop isn't motivated by cowardice in the final act (or he probably isn't - the undefined PC means that the interpretation of the other characters is also flexible, especially where the LIs are concerned) - but his last speech seems to make clear that jealously, misanthropy and perhaps self-hatred are involved. If he was a coward, he might show rather more signs of actual fear: instead, he accompanies the PC for half the game, defeating dragons and fire giants. At the end, if he's still alive and if the PC has swapped sides, he'll join the PC to fight the companions despite being outnumbered.
The things that attract people to characters are different. Bishop's fan following exists probably not on the strength of his cuddliness, but because they recognise something of themselves in him. That is, he is to some people sympathetic, if less than entirely admirable. Apart from that, his character overall seems to be a memorable one - unlike some of the companions, he didn't suffer quite so much from cut content and his presence is one of the (relatively few) details that lifts the NWN2 OC above the level of purely by-the-book generic fantasy RPG.
IMO, anyway.
I wouldn't want there to be traditional romance for Bishop, since with some reservations I like the way the relationship is done in the game.

What are we speaking about? Are we speaking about "which is the most eligible NPC at the title of "man of the year"? Are we speaking about "which is the male NPC with the highest honour?"
That's Casavir, of course, he is a LG paladin!
No, we are speaking about "which NPC is the most appealing to the other sex?", so, in this sense, I can answer "for me, is Bishop, without any doubt". At the second place I would put Khelgar, for his sense of humour! (he always makes me laugh a lot when he enjoys so much fighting!) But being a dwarf (and not, dwarves aren't my first choice for handsome males :-P ) there's no story for a romance... maybe a human Khelgar could have been more interesting...
EDIT
I was forgotting... I really would like to know in which way Bishop's fate would have changed if Obsidian had finished his romance... maybe if the PC loves him back, he would had not betraed anyone... who knows?
