oh, and about the contraseptives...even with them, you NEVER know.... XDXD
Your forgetting that this is D&D, forget ordinary contraceptives, we could easily have magical contraceptives. Ranging from spells to potions. Imagine that conversation with Sand or Qara if you have to ask them to cast the spell on you? or the Gith priestess? "hey would you mind using the spell in this wand on me, no you don't need to know what the spell is"

The problems with this kind of game is that each one of us build in his/her own mind a full representation of the characters, just starting from the few elements we got from the game. But if the OC give to us, let's say, 20%, then the other 80 that we build around is, of course, different for everyone. In this sense, the author of the romance pack has written her own Bishop. Her own Casavir, her own Neeshka, etc. Unfortunately, if we want "our" version of the character, we have to write our own romance pack. The con is that in this way, we don't have any surprise :-( and in my opinion, the surprise is an important factor. I WANT to be surprised! By a dialogue, by the story, by an action, by whatever. But the only way for being surprised is accepting a mod by others!
The other parts have been developed in my mind :-D
About contraceptives... well, sincerely, my PC is not the kind for babies... o_O When near Highcliff, after rescuing the children, Elanee asked my PC about her future plan of having children. "No, thanks. The 3 that I bring around are enough!" (free translation from the Italian dialogue) :-D
That sentence summarizes the situation! :-P

It ended up being a half-dragon half-elf baby o.0;;
anyway, weird sheit happens in D&D. (plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Qara flubbed up the potion...)

You win. I retract that I did not agree with the author's interpretation of Bishop, instead I will say that it did not agree with MY interpretation of the character

Oh, don't worry, this is not a battle. I find particularly interesting to know how the others see the characters because each one of us has maybe caught a different aspect of their personality. So I am extremely curious!
By the way, since, from what I read, it seems to me you had chosen Bishop as love interest, what about coming here http://social.biowar...1/index/4507020 for speculating with me and others about his behaviour? I am really curious about your opinion! :-)

@ Zaxares: Well, I suppose it is all due to the same old story of "we must commercialize the game, we were in a hurry". I frankly would have waited 2 or 3 months more to see all the romances available, than having the game before but with missing parts! <_<
Plus... I would have liked so far to see the completion of romances with a game patch...

@ Sarethus: lol. I've thought about that before, but what I guess I'm trying to express is, hmm... ok, example. I played the pencil and paper D&D a few times with some friends. At one point in the game, my character became pregnant, simply because the DM took advantage that I tried some ale and passed out in a dwarven tavern...>.>;

Funny you should say that, the fanfic that I am *trying* to write is that of a half-blue dragon elf character in NWN2. Worked in an amnesia plot in mainly because the OC story breaks down if you use a long lived species like an elf as a main character.

I call it the Obsidian Ending curse.
Admittedly they did do a fairly decent ending for Storm of Zehir, but that wasn't too hard considering your party mostly consisted of your own created PCs and the odd NPC companion barely say anything to you.

I imported my OC and MotB character thinking it was another addition to the same character's story, but NOOOOO. At first I just wondered why it seemed so easy...Until I returned to Neverwinter and they were telling me how the Knight Captain was still missing and I was like "UHM? WTF? I'm right HERE."
I quit the game for a month I was so pissed

Also one last part is Atari is making a new Neverwinter game. I just don't know if obsidian will be helping make it.

I doubt New Vegas will have "romances" per say. We don't know much about Dungeon Siege 3, but the key folks from Mask of the Betrayer are working on it. I kinda doubt it will have romances but I guess we'll see.
I don't like romances in games generally speaking but I really enjoyed the romantic interactions in Alpha Protocol. But it's just different tonality-wise than the sorta, fluffy, "oh I have never known love before but you've shown me the light" proclamations that we typically see. But to each his own.
